The NFL Draft begins on Thursday, and the Titans currently have the fourth overall pick.

We've talked about the possibilities for months.

Jonathan Martinez from Fort Myers, Florida
Question: Hi Jim. A couple different questions: 1- How have the Titans been looking at the facilities? I'm sure the team is getting oriented with "new" everywhere from logo to faces, but within the facility is there an eagerness, as the fans are? 2- How do you see the draft impacting more free agents? 3- How do you feel personally about the upcoming season? I'm a go with the flow kinda guy, but I have some reason be optimistic w/ change. I like it! How do you feel with the moves so far? How do you see this advancing into some wins this season? Love your work and perspective always. Titan up.

Jim: Hey Jonathan. Things are looking good, from the rebrand to the product on the field. This team is still under construction, but there are reasons to be optimistic. … The draft will impact players currently on the roster, in terms of position battles and potentially some guys getting waived once additions are made. There are currently 78 players on the roster. Add nine draft picks and that makes 87, enough for just three undrafted free agents (with a roster limit of 90). I suspect some guys will let go to make room for the new additions … I like the moves, and I'm more optimistic about things moving forward. But I'm not going to make any crazy predictions in here. This team is going to have to prove it. Thanks for writing in from Jevon Kearse's hometown.

Justin Chambers from Mesa, Arizona
Question: Hey Jim! You heard this from me before but mentioning it again, the Titans are the NFLs best running back team in history (Earl Campbell, Eddie George, Chris Johnson and Derrick Henry) and I feel like adding Jeremiah Love would keep it going! But I'm also interested in picks 2 and 3. Do you see the possibility of Titans moving up into round 1 for another pick? I'm in Arizona and have seen Jordyn Tyson do some spectacular things several times!

Jim: Hey Justin. I'm not ruling anything out. I don't think it's outside the realm of possibility that the team moves into the back of the first round, but something like this wouldn't transpire until the night of the draft. So much hinges on which players might be available, and what other teams might be willing to do. But if there's a guy sitting there late in the first the team really wants, then I imagine some calls will be made.

Jason Vesely from Mosinee, Wisconsin
Question: I think the Titans take Arvell Reese at #4 or even move up one spot to #3 with the Arizona Cardinals to do the deal. He is a disruptive force out there and that fits well pairing with Jeffery Simmons on the line, that and if Oluwafemi Oladejo shows up that defense could have potential to really be something scary. I could see a running back being picked in the second or third round. that running back from Indiana, Black I think his name is, but he is a young Derrick Henry the way he runs he sees that hole hits it and he goes like a bowling ball going downhill he can bust one like Henry.

Jim: We'll find out in two days, Jason. I still think I'd be surprised to see the team move up to three. And while I think Jeremiyah Love is very much in play at 4, if he's not there and the team doesn't get him, I'd be surprised to see another running back picked early by this team. Love's unique traits make him a can't-miss/can't-pass-up prospect in my mind, but it's not like the team is desperate at the position. It's going to be interesting to see how things play out. I'm not sure Reese makes it to 4 either, but at this point it's hard to know what to believe with all the smokescreens out there.

Randy Paltzer from Kaukauna, Wisconsin
Question: Good day Jim! Not really a question here just an observation from a long time Titan fan. Titan-Oiler history has shown that for some reason this organization has been the most successful with a stud RB.
Earl Cambell - Edddie George - Chris Johnson - Derrick Henry and others I may have left out. Therefore, shouldn't the 4th pick be a no brainer. Jeremiah Love MUST be the start of something big! Right?

Jim: What if Love is not there at 4?

Jason Petty from Lebanon, Tennessee
Question: Hey Jim, Happy Draft week! I hope you and the family are all doing AMAZING. I have 2 questions for you this time around. #1- What is your normal routine for each NFL draft you cover for the Titans, IF you have a "routine"? And I'm sure you're in the Titans booth/room during each day of the draft, or at least have been a time or 2. What's it like in the booth/room with the GM, coaches, owners? I personally would just like to know from your point of view. Thanks for reading, and Looking forward to your reports over the next few weeks! I mean I always do look forward to reading your reports, but this time of year is a little more anticipating. #TitanUp

Jim: Appreciate it, Jason. I'll be in Pittsburgh for Round 1. I regularly attend the first night of the draft, and hopefully the team's pick will be there and I'll get to talk to him. Then I'll be back in Nashville on Friday morning for days 2 and 3 of the draft. I am not in the War Room – that's reserved for ownership, personnel folks, coaches, etc. My job is to write about the team, so I'll be covering the draft, from writing stories to being on zoom calls with the prospects to attending press conferences with the GM. It's always a whirlwind.

Kilroy Caldwell from Blues Hill, Tennessee
Question: Been awhile since I've chimed in, hope you & everybody well wishes. Just learned of the passing of Coach Mac, I'm saddened by the loss of such a great man, condolences to family, friends, and Titans nation. Never met the man, but listening to him and Mike Keith on the radio felt like you and a couple of buddies sitting in the nose bleed bleachers watching a ball game. He will forever be missed, along with Mike. Coach Mac should be immediately added to The Ring of Honor, which brings me to my question- Why isn't Keith Bulluck in the ring? Case in point - Linebacker with 19 ints, 18 sacks, 13 fumble recoveries, 5 touchdowns. Borderline Hall of Fame numbers.

Jim: Appreciate it, Kilroy. I'm going to miss Coach Mac, a great man I knew for over 20 years. Good question on K.B., who certainly could end up in the Ring of Honor one day. He definitely has some impressive credentials.

Josh Carter from Chattanooga, Tennessee
Question: Jim, In preparing for the draft, I was looking over the roster listed on tennesseetitans.com and I was noticing our longtime vets, all share a no nonsense, hardworking, blue collar sort of feel. Big Jeff and Amani are the longest term guys at 8 seasons and they seem to show up big every year and every down. After that I think Morgan Cox has been here the next longest, with this being season 6. Then we have Chestnut listed as year five.
My question is, why is Mason Kinsey listed as season 4, when he joined the Titans in 2020? That would makes this year 7 for him and he would be the third longest tenured guy. Maybe it is just a clerical error. I know he went to the Patriots for a minute. Either way, out of this list of long timers we have 4 homegrown guys and 2 of them undrafted. I am hoping we get another great crop of hardworking, no nonsense guys this year and a good group of undrafted guys who will represent our team well for a long time! I can't wait to see how it all turns out! Titan Up!

Jim: Hey Josh. The way the Titans tally the NFL experience tab is based on accrued seasons, and in order for a year to count, the player has to be on the roster in some capacity for six games.

Richard Robles from Springfield, Tennessee
Question: Hi, Jim. I think we have to draft Jeremiah Love in the 1st Round. The Titans will draft Jeremiah Love in the 1st Round. We knew Jeffrey Simmons is announcing the pick. We better think of the right things.

Jim: Gotcha, Richard.

Eric Biederman from Franklin, Tennessee
Question: Not really a question, just a message to other Titans fans. Whoever Borgonzi picks is a good prospect. You can't pick at no 4 and not get someone who might be good. I think people need to chill out a little bit with the "If we don't get this guy, it's over" mentality. Cheers!

Jim: Thanks for chiming in, Eric.

Have a great draft week everyone!
