NASHVILLE – The Titans let a winnable game slip away on Sunday.

Bob Stewart from Cookeville, Tennessee
Question: Hey Jim - How long do you think it will take the team to realize that Cam Ward is not the QB of the future? I'm sure you've seen enough football to know that he doesn't have the "it" factor that is needed to win a Super Bowl. I heard a preacher once say that if you can't see yourself marrying the person you're dating, then you need to end it. If Cam doesn't have what it takes to win a Super Bowl, the Titans should move on sooner than later. Thanks,

Jim: Hey Bob. Certainly not after 10 games, or an entire season for that matter. I've seen enough football to know it takes more time to judge a QB, especially a QB with not enough help around him. I remember Steve McNair getting booed in the season opener in 1999 because a lot of fans had given up on him – and that was his fifth NFL season. He was co-MVP a few years later. Peyton Manning threw 28 interceptions in his rookie season with the Colts. I'm not saying Cam is going to become the next McNair, or Manning. And, I'm not saying he's been great this season, because he hasn't been. But I thought he showed that "it" factor when he guided the team on a 95-yard drive in the closing minutes on Sunday, and when I see how he handles himself at the facility, around his teammates, he sure looks like a guy who has the "it" factor to me. He's all about football, and getting better. Cam joined a franchise that won three games last season. This season, his protection has failed him on a lot of Sundays, and he's throwing to a lot of rookies. Can he be better? Yes. He has to cut down on the turnovers, and he has to be more accurate at times. He's had too many stretches that make people like you wonder. I get it. This much I know for certain: The 2025 Titans don't have what it takes to win a Super Bowl. Winning three games again might be a stretch. But I'm sure not going to make any definitive judgements on Cam after 10 games. You are certainly entitled to your opinion, and I know some others feel the same way, because I see the emails in here. We'll have to wait and see how things play out the rest of this season, and into next year.

Jordan Redman from Cheyenne, Wyoming
Question: Hey Jim, first-time writer but long time reader. Been following this team for nearly 30 years now, fell in love with Eddie George when i was a kid and subsequently this franchise. Through all the ups and downs over the years I still wake up each game day, put on my "lucky" Titans socks, pour coffee in my Titans mug and eagerly await kickoff. Even this year, with this terrible season on our hands, I manage to be hopeful each and every game day. That being said my question today is about personnel for this upcoming week. If Dike and/or Ayomanor can not suit up, could we see Xavior Restrepo ger a run out? What do we have to lose? He is not quick and not game-breaking, but he has a rapport with Cam that nobody else on this team does. Their film from college and time in preseason shows a level of understanding and trust that Cam doesn't seem to have with any other teammate. Love to hear your thoughts. Titan Up!

Jim: Hey Jordan. Thanks for taking the time. Sounds like the team is lucky to have you as a fan. It sometimes seems I get as many questions about Restrepo as I do Cam. We'll see if this is the week. A lot will depend on the health of the guys injured. Keep in mind the team has others on the practice squad they've elevated ahead of Restrepo, too. He just needs to keep working, and then take advantage of his opportunity if/when it does come.

Alan Walker from Alcoa, Tennessee
Question: Hi Jim. I'm very aware of our team's poor season thus far. For the first time that I can remember our Knoxville television station did not air Sunday's game. When I researched why, the answer I got was poor ratings and lack of interest. As mentioned, I am aware things are not pretty, but I still enjoy watching. Hopefully the upper management gets this ship righted sooner rather than later. Since I didn't see the game, I have no comments to make. Based on the score and what little I have read, it would appear that the game must have been at least somewhat entertaining. Here's hoping this team gets back to full stadiums, a competitive team, and being able to tune in from home. Thanks for the great job you do covering our Titans!

Jim: Hey Alan. Well, the station has probably done you a favor some Sundays. This past Sunday's game was entertaining in the end, but I'll be honest: The first half was a real yawner. The team fought, that's for sure, especially on defense. The last-minute drive by Cam Ward was encouraging, the repeated mistakes, injuries and underwhelming offense for most of the day were discouraging. Appreciate you following along during these challenging times. I know a lot of others have jumped ship.

Jack Walker from Calabasas, California
Question: Hey Jim! Just another Sunday in Nashville. Let a thoroughly winnable one get away. Today was an odd day... Saw not one but two former Titans QB throw for touchdowns today, Marcus and Malik. Boy, Georgia sure looked good Saturday. I've been rooting for Arch Manning this year... But am actually happy they lost yesterday because a middling 2025 almost guarantees he returns for 26 and doesn't enter the draft til 27. Whatever our draft position is in the 26 draft, I hope we trade back, to obtain draft capital for 27. No matter who is on the team, I'll be there in 2027 to check out the new stadium. Watched a video the other day, amazing progress. I watch a few games every year at Sofi and the new Titans stadium can be just as nice

Jim: You've seen enough from Arch to think he's a sure-fire NFL stud? I haven't. The new stadium is going to be nice. Let's just hope the football team is a lot better when it moves in.

Jay Matheny from Mayfield, Kentucky
Question: My family and I have now gone to two straight Titans home games, and, despite unfortunate outcomes for the home team, we've had an absolute blast. With that said, we are thinking very seriously about picking up season tickets for next year. What's the best approach for newbies like us to grab season tickets for next year?
Thanks, and Titan Up!

Jim: Hey Jay. Glad you had a big time. Call the ticket office at 615-565-4200 or email them at ticketsales@titans.nfl.com for season tickets. You won't need a PSL next season. I'm sure they'll be glad to hear from you.

Eli Decko from Youngwood, Pennsylvania
Question: Pathetic. Cam Ward is so bad. No Stroud and we still lost. Made ol long neck out to look like prime Matt Shaub. Unbelievable. The tictac flags are also Pathetic. Simmons could have farted too loud and they would have flagged him. Another weekend and another predictable loss. Had we only lost that game earlier and I would have predicted the season perfectly again. Meanwhile Vrabel is 9-2. And to think Ran Carthon got to fire the best coach we ever had, all cuz he was scared of him and butt hurt he ended his "career" with that hit in Indy.

Jim: Your understanding of how things went down with Vrabel here is a little off, Eli. And, by the way, he wouldn't be 9-2 with this team.

Benny Malone from San Diego, California
Question: I am a Nashville transplant living in San Diego, and still a big Titans fan. I am writing because I have had it with the fans criticizing Cam Ward. He is a rookie. He has literally nobody to throw the ball to. The truth is that not only is there no legitimate number 1 NFL caliber receiver on this team, there is not a legitimate number 2 receiver on this team, and maybe not a number 3 either. Yes, the rookies receivers show some promise but that is it. He also has no time to throw the ball and is under constant pressure. The Titans also do not have a running game. Is he perfect, of course not. Does he need to work on securing the ball so he does not fumble, yes, but he also is not throwing interceptions or making the type of bone headed plays every week like last year's quarterback did. And when given a chance, like on the final drive this week, he throws dimes like he did to Chig. The game is not too fast for him. He also is incredibly mature and a real professional. I am old enough to remember the booing of Steve McNair in his first few years. Just like Steve, I have no doubt that Cam will shut everyone up and be a real franchise quarterback once he gets a real team to support him. The Titans are lucky to have him and the fan base will come to understand that once the GM builds a team around him and we get a real NFL head coach (which we recently had but who suffered from the dismantling of a good team by a terrible GM, terrible draft picks, and who apparently had an apparent personality conflict with the owner).

Jim: Thanks for taking the time, Benny. We both date back a while. 😊

Connie Alinikoff from Hendersonville, Tennessee
Question: Hello Jim. Seems I never ask a question, just give my opinion, for what it's worth. Some positive signs from Sunday. It was good to see Cam release the ball quicker than we've seen in past games. He used his legs and scrambled more than usual. With a good coaching staff, I feel like he will be successful. Another positive, the Chiefs lost. Thanks for allowing us to vent and share our unprofessional opinions. My family and I wish you and yours a Happy Thanksgiving.

Jim: I appreciate it, Connie. Best to you and your family.

Sam Bingham Jr. from Tuscon, Arizona
Question: Hi Jim, you think maybe they put too much faith in Cam his first year. Does Amy need to stand on the sidelines like the owner does for the Colts to better understand what she needs for this team. With that new Stadium going up next door need to make the fans happy but you're not doing it at 1-16 hope next year is better , but Titans keep saying that to ourselves next year next year and then soon you die and you run out of next year but stay hardcore fans cause, cause one year we will get back to the promise land .Hopes and dreams. Maybe that's why nobody respects this organization cause it looks like let's get players who couldn't make it on another team and bring them in and pay them a lot of money for what always next year Titan Fans Love you guys

Jim: Hey Sam. I think Cam is learning on the job, and he's going through the growing pains everyone expected. Can he play better? Yes. He's fumbled too much, and he's missed some throws, as I mentioned earlier. But again, let's not ignore he's the quarterback of a bad team. No, I don't think Amy needs to stand on the sideline to see what the team needs. Hell, everyone knows what this team needs – it has holes everywhere. It's just going to take some time to rebuild.

Toperasu Chirandu from Edmonton, Alberta, Canada
Question: Hey Jim. I was greatly encouraged by this Sunday's game. We made improvements in the offence. The defence was stellar. What was your take? There is a lot of room for improvement, but this was this year's best game for the Titans.

Jim: Saw some positive signs for sure. I liked Cam's drive at the end. The defense continued to fight. But the three-and-outs and all the penalties on offense are inexcusable, and the reason the Titans lost the game.

Christopher Allen from Houston, Texas
Question: Why not blitz on 3 and 16 at home with a chance to give us one more chance to win. Playing conservative at 1-8 is disgustingly bad. Can't get a stop at home vs a back up. With the saints and jets winning last week and dolphins winning a few we are by far the 32nd team in the nfl, dead last by a mile. I hope Burke and Amy are watching and allow the GM to hire our next coach. My question is can we keep them out of it? Vrabel is 9-2. So the last time they fired and hired it wrecked us to the worst team in the league. Let Borgonzi do his job and get out the way.

Jim: Hey Christopher. I don't care what Vrabel's record is. His record was 6-18 in his last 24 games here. It's a big part of the reason he was fired. The next head coach will be selected by Borgonzi and Brinker.

Joe Allen from Gainesboro, Tennessee
Question: Good day Jim; well, I felt for Ridley since he worked so hard to get ready for game time and then hurt like he did. My first question is why did we put him in the slot instead of wide receiver? His chances of getting hurt were multiplied in the slot! Second one and I am sure you will get a ton on this, penalties! I lost count on the number of them. Same people committing the same ones over and over! When the Texans got the ball at the end, their running back killed us with chunks of yards. Did we not think they would run it to get time off the clock before they scored? Thought we had a chance to win this game, but alas, another disappointment. I thought the defense played well for the most part, but the offense was just killing us with those penalties! Guess that was something they did not work on over the bye. Wish we all had better news for the mailbag, but still a fan and always will be.

Jim: Hey Joe. A lot of these receivers, including Ridley, line up in multiple spots. I wouldn't blame a broken fibula on him being lined up on the slot. I agree the penalties were ridiculous.

Jeremy Rodriguez from Winchester, California
Question: Happy Sunday Jim! Hope you got a chance to get a little R&R last week. I would like to send a sincere apology to America for that horrible game. Both teams were not good, Houston was just not as bad. Not one area of the team looked good. I cannot wait to get a coach in here that can make this team better. Have a great Jim and as always TITAN UP!!

Jim: Hope all is well, Jeremy.

Jason Knight from Cleveland, Tennessee
Question: Hey jim i hope all is well. Ill be honest the defense played one of their better games. Ward has a case of the butterfingers. I know our line isn't great, but it is better than the last year or two. I honestly believe the team should have a QB competition in training camp. I know it probably wont happen, but if Levis had not made a couple bone headed plays his numbers would be better than Ward and Cam has a better line. I think competition would be good for them both. Also i think they should definitely keep the tight ends coach i think Luke is his name. I wanted to know what is the team chemistry? Do the guys hang out together outside of the club house? Teams that have guys who spend time together outside of practice and team activities usually have a better team. Im not even gonna comment on everyone leaving or how the stadium looks. I've said it before and ill say it again they should give you a raise. I think the team would have less fans if not for you. One more thing i hope they dont hire nagy as a coach. His coaching at Chicago was not that great. Thank you we appreciate all you do

Jim: Luke Stocker is the tight ends coach, and he is a good one. There are a few guys on the current staff I think could be retained. I haven't noticed any issues with team chemistry, or leadership. Every NFL team is filled with players from every background, guys with different personalities. Some react to losses differently than others. Not everyone is going to be your bestie, but they work together. In my opinion the Titans have a talent issue, not a chemistry/culture issue. The fact the head coach was fired and an interim replaced him further illustrates the mess the team is currently in. The hope is things will get better in time.

Have a great week everyone!
