NASHVILLE – Cam Ward has faced some pretty feisty defenses in his first NFL season.
The Titans quarterback will face another huge challenge on Sunday against the Seahawks, who are known for their attacking style, and relentless pass rush.
"I think they're real talented, all those guys up front," Ward said. "They do a lot of games, especially in third down, but it's a talented group. They really don't need a lot of blitzes to get pressure on the quarterback. So, I just got to be decisive, get the ball out and help the o-line out."
Seattle has six players with 20-plus pressures in 2025, which is tied for the most in the NFL. Uchenna Nwosu has 5.5 sacks on the season, followed by five sacks from Leonard Williams.
The Seahawks have the fourth highest pressure rate in the NFL (39.9 percent), per Next Gen Stats, despite blitzing on just 20.9 percent of their opponents' dropbacks this season, which is second lowest in the NFL.
"Good players," Titans interim coach Mike McCoy explained. "I think in the scheme, a really good scheme. Mike (Macdonald) does an outstanding job. They were outstanding in Baltimore for many years, and what he's done up there with the players they have and the drafts they've had or how they built the team there. It's a really good coach and good players going out there and executing the system."
Ward has a 56.4 passer rating when pressured in 2025, when he's been sacked 41 times.
Ward thinks he's been more decisive in recent weeks, and wants to be better across the board as the season continues.
"I just think every week I get better at it," he said. "So whether the stat sheet says it or the score says it or not. I just think I know I'm getting better at something little every week that I got to get to be at my best. And also I just think the emphasis on doing what the players want to do, not only from my standpoint but the receivers, the routes that they're good at running, the offensive line helping them out a lot. So, I think a lot goes into it."
