NASHVILLE – The Titans added five players to their roster on Monday, while parting ways with five others.
The newcomers: Linebacker Owen Pappoe, defensive back Melvin Smith and defensive tackle Nazir Stackhouse, all awarded to the team off waivers, along with safety Terrell Burgess and offensive tackle James Hudson III.
As a result of the additions, the team waived five players who initially made the team's 53-man roster – WR Xavier Restrepo, OT Austin Deculus, S Jerrick Reed II, CB Erick Hallett II, and LB Mohamoud Diabate.
Pappoe, who was waived by the Cardinals on Sunday, played college at Auburn. He was a fifth-round draft pick of the Arizona Cardinals in the 2023 NFL Draft, and he has played in 49 games over the past three seasons. The 6-foot, 230-pound Pappoe, who played in all 17 games in 2025, has played primarily on special teams during his NFL career.
Smith, waived by the Chiefs, played in college at Southern Arkansas. The 6-foot-1, 185-pound Smith joined the Chiefs as an undrafted free agent in 2025 and spent most of last season on the team's practice squad before being promoted to the active roster in December of last season.
Stackhouse, waived by the Packers, played in college at Georgia. The 6-foot-4, 327-pound Stackhouse played in 13 games last season for Green Bay, with one start, and he was credited with 12 tackles. He was a second-team All-SEC performer with the Bulldogs.
Burgess, released by the Saints, played in college at Utah. A third-round pick of the Los Angeles Rams in the 2020 NFL Draft, Burgess has also spent time with the Giants, Commanders, and Bills, in addition to his time with the Saints. The 5-foot-11, 202-pound Burgess has played in 59 career games, with 16 starts, and he's tallied 76 career tackles with four passes defense. Burgess played in 12 games for the Saints in 2025, when he made one start.
Hudson, released by the Patriots, played in college at Michigan at Cincinnati. The 6-foot-5, 313-pound Hudson has played in 60 career games, with 19 starts, while playing with the Browns and Giants before joining the Patriots earlier this offseason. Hudson was a fourth-round pick of the Browns in the 2021 NFL Draft, and he played in 49 games, with 17 starts, for the Browns from 2021-2024.
The Titans are scheduled to return to the practice field on Tuesday at Vanderbilt Health Football Center.
The team opens the season on September 13 against the Jets at Nissan Stadium.
