NASHVILLE, Tenn. -- Upon the start of Titans training camp, our 2017 Line 1 Captain, Elizabeth, is our first Cheerleader Spotlight for the 2018 season. Elizabeth is a five-year Titans Cheerleading veteran and is starting her second season as a captain.

Originally from Dickson, Tenn., Elizabeth graduated from Austin Peay State University and now works as a nurse for children with special needs. Read on to find out more about Elizabeth and her experience working in the NFL!

This is your 5th year as a TTC- what keeps you wanting to come back year after year?

Ultimately, my love for dance and this team is what keeps me wanting to come back. Being a part of the Titans organization and the NFL has been such a wonderful, life changing experience. I have so many great memories from the past four seasons and becoming the most senior veteran on the team has challenged me in such a positive way. It pushes me to always give it my all and strive to be the best leader I can be. I want every girl that becomes a TTC to leave saying "that this was the best year of my life."

What is your current full-time job and how do you manage to balance doing both TTC and your job so well?

I am currently a nurse at a preschool and development center for kids with special needs. Balancing my everyday life and my TTC life is hard, but time management is key!

What surprised you the most when you joined TTC?

I would have to say I was most surprised by the amazing caliber of women on the team! Their drive, work ethic, and dedication are uncanny. The way they support and celebrate each other in life makes you want to always be and do your best.

What have you gained from this opportunity with the NFL?

I have gained so much from my time with the NFL. I've learned so much about hard work, dedication, and perseverance. Being a part of this team has helped me become the woman I want to be in life and to be one of the few women in the NFL empowers me to be successful no matter what comes my way.

What is the craziest thing you have ever experienced on gameday?

The craziest thing I have ever experienced on gameday was the down pour on my very first game as a TTC. Just as we ran out onto the field one of the worst rainstorms I have ever seen poured down on Nissan Stadium! I honestly have never seen raindrops that big!! We would have to take turns going to the side and taking off our boots so we could dump out all of the water that had pooled!

What are 3 things you cannot live without on game day?

  • Our pregame music in the locker room
  • My 5 hour energy
  • Our team prayer before we run out of the tunnel

What is something you would like to say to Titans fans?

Thank you. Thank you for your support! It means so much to us, because without you we wouldn't be here. The best is yet to come! Let's cheer our Titans to the Super bowl! TITAN UP!
