NASHVILLE – Titans interim coach Mike McCoy held a press conference on Monday, one day after the team's 30-24 loss to the Seattle Seahawks.

The Titans return to action this Sunday against the Jacksonville Jaguars at Nissan Stadium.

Here's a look at some of the hot topics from today's presser:

-McCoy offered no updates on the team's injuries. On Sunday, McCoy said Dan (Moore Jr.) is getting further evaluation on his knee, Shy Tuttle is getting evaluated for a concussion, and Lloyd Cushenberry III is getting further evaluation on his foot.

-After watching the tape, McCoy said he saw a lot of positives from Sunday's game. He liked the 9-, 11-, 15-, and 15-play drives, while noting the Titans had too many penalties that killed one drive, and put themselves in a tough long down-and-distance situation late. McCoy said the defense needs to find a way to minimize the big plays. He didn't like the 10 penalties. "We have to find a way to play 60 minutes of clean football," McCoy said, "and not hurt yourself."

-McCoy praised returner Chimere Dike, who scored on a 90-yard punt return for a touchdown, and on a one-yard touchdown catch. "What a great young player," McCoy said of Dike. "The way he works, the way he shows up every day. He does everything the right way."

-McCoy said he was very pleased with the way quarterback Cam Ward played on Sunday, when he not only took what the Seattle defense gave him, but also took off and ran with it on occasion. Ward completed 28-of-42 passes for 256 yards and a touchdown in the game, and he also ran for 37 yards and a score.

-Asked how receiver Xavier Restrepo, who had two catches for 26 yards, performed on Sunday, McCoy said: "Not bad. I think he'll tell you there were some route things he could do better. Clean it up and get to certain landmarks and where you need to be. But I think overall, he did a nice job, had a could nice catches." A smiling McCoy said Ward was giving Restrepo a hard time for not scoring when he was stopped at the one-yard line, because it's something he would have done in college at Miami when the two were teammates. "Give him all the credit in the world," McCoy said of Restrepo. "He's worked his tail off."

-McCoy said the team plans to work running back Kalel Mullings into the mix more moving forward, especially in short yardage situations.

-McCoy raved about Jaguars quarterback Trevor Lawrence, a player he coached from 2022-2024 while in Jacksonville when he served as quarterbacks coach. "I loved working with Trevor, every day," McCoy said. "What a great guy. He works his tail off. The game means something to him. He's a great leader. It was just fun every day. … We have a great challenge (on Sunday), it's a talented team. I know the roster extremely well, very talented in all three phases."

-Safety Kevin Winston Jr. led the Titans in tackles on Sunday with 10, and McCoy said he's getting better every week. "I think now, with the experience, he is seeing things a lot quicker," McCoy said. "Now he is just flying around out there. He has a very, very bright future."
