Coach Fisher's Wednesday Practice Report

HEAD COACH JEFF FISHER**

(on today's practice)

We had a good day today. I was pleased with the way they came in, a really focused walk-thru. It was a good practice.

(on Tom Brady and the Patriots' run game)

I don't think their run game has struggled. I think they choose to throw it. They throw it so well. He's clearly back from the injury. He's off to a real good start. They're probably disappointed in the point production, but he's making all the throws and playing well.

(on if he would like to see players be over emotional)

**

No, we're focused and working. That's what you do. You come to work, you're a pro. You come to work and you do the right things. You work on the practice field and prepare to play the game. Those things just become distractions for you.

(on if the team needs a catalyst to get a victory)

We just need a win regardless of how we get there, whether it's a defensive play, an offensive play or a special teams play. Against this group it's going to require more than just one play, it's going to require a near-perfect game of football.

(on how he relies on his coaching background to get through the rough start to this season)

Everything's different, each season, each team, each situation. The circumstances are different. So, you trust your gut. You obviously have to communicate and that's what we do. The coaches have worked very hard. With each mounting loss they work harder, if that's at all possible. But the important thing is to put things into perspective and move on, and start the next work week with enthusiasm and energy. That's what you do. If you trust your players to do the right things then eventually you finally win a ballgame.

(on William Hayes' performance in Sunday's game)

He played fine. He played good, played solid. He's just been playing well all year.

(on Vincent Fuller practicing)

Vinny practiced, yes. He still has to avoid contact, but he was out there. We needed his legs today because other guys weren't practicing.

(on Tom Brady not having the same offensive numbers as in years past)

**

He's played some good defenses. The Jets played him very, very well. I thought Denver had a good plan. They're 3-2 and very well could be 5-0 right now. They're not consumed with numbers and statistics and things like that. What they care about is what's in the win column.
