Biography

PRO: The Titans claimed Samuel Womack III off waivers from the Indianapolis Colts during final roster cutdowns prior to the 2025 campaign. The 5-foot-10-inch, 189-pounder is a shifty, aggressive cornerback that looks to add depth and experience to the Titans secondary and on special teams. In his first three NFL campaigns with the San Francisco 49ers (2022-23) and Indianapolis Colts (2024), the University of Toledo product appeared in 40 games with nine starts and posted 54 tackles, three interceptions, 11 passes defensed, a stop for loss and eight special teams tackles.

TITANS TIDBITS:
• Womack III was a preferred walk-on at Toledo, but it didn't take long for that status to change. His performance made coaches send a scholarship offer his way early in his career, and he responded by becoming the school record holder in pass breakups (40).

CAREER TRANSACTIONS:
• The Detroit, Mich., native was selected by the San Francisco 49ers in the fifth round (172nd overall) of the 2022 NFL Draft.
• Waived by the 49ers on Aug. 27, 2024.
• Claimed off waivers by the Indianapolis Colts on Aug. 28, 2024.
• Waived by the Colts on Aug. 26, 2025.
• Claimed off waivers by the Titans on Aug. 27, 2025.

COLLEGE:
• Appeared in 51 games at Toledo (2017-21) and recorded 128 tackles, 4.5 stops for loss, half a sack, 40 passes defensed, five interceptions, a forced fumble and a fumble recovery.
• As a super senior (2021), saw action in all 13 games and recorded 33 tackles, a stop for loss, 16 passes defensed, two interceptions and a fumble recovery.
• As a senior (2020), appeared in six games and registered 20 tackles, 1.5 stops for loss, half a sack and eight passes defensed.
• As a junior (2019), competed in all 12 games and posted a career-high 59 tackles, half a tackle for loss, 15 passes defensed, two interceptions and a forced fumble.
• As a sophomore (2018), saw action in all 13 games and recorded 12 tackles, 1.5 tackles for loss and a pass defensed.
• As a freshman (2017), played in seven games and tallied four tackles, two passes defensed and an interception. The team won the MAC Championship for the first time since 2004.
• Graduated with a degree in entrepreneurship from Toledo in 2021.

PERSONAL:
• Attended East English Village Prep (Detroit, Mich) High School.
• As a senior (2016), earned first-team All-City, All-Metro and All-State accolades after totaling 1,000 receiving yards and 20 touchdowns. Also collected 11 interceptions (four returned for touchdowns) and two fumble recoveries.
