WR Mason Kinsey

How tough was it to see Calvin (Ridley) come back and get injured on the first play?

Yeah man, that was sad to see. I mean, you know, obviously first play of the game, we get him involved early. You know he's missed some time and get him involved early and try and get him into a rhythm, and then he goes down like that because I know how hard Calvin's (Ridley) worked to get back out here for this team. I know how much he cares, I know how hard he works. So, to see him go down man, it's heartbreaking man. I know how bad he wants to be out there and play with us. So, I'm praying for him and wish him nothing but a speedy recovery.

I know that forced you into action even more, how did you maybe assess how things went today from a personal perspective?

You know, it's crazy You prepare as a professional to work for worst-case scenarios. You know, you have a guy like Calvin, and Chim (Dike) go down and you go into a game thinking you're going play four phases on special teams and now it seems like you're taking pretty much every rep at receiver. So, but that's what we do to work for, that's why we prepare, that's why you study. When you get thrown into the fire, you just got to adjust. So, it's a little up and down. It's never perfect. It's never as good as it seems. It's never as bad as it seems. So, would I like to have caught that out breaker late in two-minute? Yeah, absolutely. I want to catch it. Did it really change the outcome? No, because Van (Jefferson) ends up scoring on the drive. So, super happy for him and glad that we can go down there and finish with points.

So, we'll talk to Cam (Ward) later, but I guess you were open deep, I guess, at another point, what maybe was the communication like on that play?

Yeah, I mean its professional football, you can't hit them all. You know, you want all the big plays, you want to be able to throw bombs down the field and hit all of them. But I'll always take the blame as a professional when it comes to miscommunication with a quarterback and receiver, and just got to go back to work and figure it out and try to hit it next time.

Obviously, it didn't come in a win, but for Cam to put together a drive and score late, do you think that helps it maybe as he keeps learning as a rookie?

Yeah, I mean obviously it's a learning curve coming in as a rook, but that's a high-pressure situation. You got to come down and try and put yourself in a position to win the football game and we did that. I think it was 80 yards or something like that, maybe 90 yards with a penalty. Yeah, 95 at the beginning with the penalty early and to drive down there 95 yards, man, it shows the competitor he is and the poise he has.
