Position coach: Shawn Jefferson

Returning: Nate Washington, Kenny Britt, Kendall Wright, Damian Williams, Marc Mariani, Michael Preston

First camp with Titans: Kevin Walter, Justin Hunter, Roberto Wallace, Diondre Borel, Rashad Ross, Travis Harvey, Dontel Watkins

Outlook:A healthy Kenny Britt, a streamlined Kendall Wright, and Justin Hunter, the 34th overall pick of the 2013 NFL Draft, likely will command a significant amount of attention from fans during open practices. It will be deserved, but fans should also pay attention to the craftiness of veterans Nate Washington and free agent signee Kevin Walter.

A year ago Britt was recovering from multiple knee surgeries and spent days at training camp running sprints two fields away from the action. He worked through the recovery process last season and made a career-high 45 receptions and is looking to build on that this season. Wright, who tied for the NFL rookie lead in receptions with 64 in 2012, shed about 15 pounds, allowing him to move in and out of cuts more smoothly and quickly. Hunter was slightly limited by a hamstring issue during much of the offseason program, and the Titans opted to exercise extra caution.

Mike Munchak said Washington had his best offseason program since joining the Titans in 2009 and has caught at least one pass in the past 78 games, including all 64 with Tennessee. Walter was limited by a back issue during the offseason but he saw similarities with the Titans' new offense and the Texans' system in which he caught 326 passes in the past seven seasons.

Damian Williams is able to play each of the different receiving positions in Tennessee's offense, which adds to possibilities for each possession. (Williams participated in speed training with Olympic athletes this offseason, and told Titans Online's Amie Wells about the experience in the video at the right).

Marc Mariani has made a strong comeback from the broken leg he suffered during a preseason game last August, and Michael Preston, who played in the final four games of 2012 after being elevated from the practice squad has continued to perform well on the field.

Things to watch at open training camp practices: New receivers coach Shawn Jefferson, who joined the Titans this offseason after eight seasons in Detroit, wears cleats and makes good use of them. He often sprints down the field after a reception yelling for receivers to finish the play if they have the ball or not. Jefferson may also put on pads during training camp to enhance his teaching methods. He's been one of the most vocal coaches, but players have responded well to him; the health of Britt and the fluidity of Wright; the competition across the group.
