NASHVILLE – The Titans on Wednesday moved running back Tyjae Spears to the team's Designated to Return to Practice list.

This designation opens up a three-week window for Spears to practice with the team, and he will not count against the team's 53-man roster until being activated from Injured Reserve.

Spears is eligible to return to practice today.

Spears suffered an ankle injury in the preseason, and he's been recovering and rehabbing ever since. Spears was placed on Injured Reserve back on August 26.

Running back Tony Pollard has carried the load for the Titans this season, while running back Julius Chestnut has played primarily on special teams. Last week, the Titans placed running back Kalel Mullings on Injured Reserve.

The Titans return to action on Sunday at the Arizona Cardinals.
