NASHVILLE – The Titans have signed cornerback Jaylon Jones to the team's 53-man roster.
The team has waived defensive back Melvin Smith Jr., who was claimed off waivers from the Chiefs on August 31.
Jones, who played at Texas A&M, was a seventh-round draft pick of the Colts in the 2023 NFL Draft and he played from 2023-2025 in Indianapolis.
Jones (6-2, 203) logged 44 games, with 29 starts, and he recorded 162 tackles, two interceptions and 21 passes defensed. He missed the first part of last season with a hamstring injury. Jones started all 17 games for the Cols in 2024.
Jones was waived by the Colts on Tuesday.
The Titans return to the practice field on Thursday. The Titans face the Jets in the season opener on Sunday at Nissan Stadium
