Titans QB Will Levis: "I'm Fighting Like Hell to Get Out There on Sunday"

NASHVILLE – Will Levis returned to the practice field on Wednesday.

The Titans quarterback didn't hide his mindset as he prepares to return to action against the Colts.

"I'm a competitor," Levis said after practice. "I'm going to push myself to play in whatever state that I'm in. It's going to be hard for myself to take myself out, but I've got to be smart throughout the week and feel it out and see how I feel, and not put myself or my team in jeopardy.

"But I'm fighting like hell to get out there on Sunday."

Levis suffered a shoulder injury in last Monday night's game vs the Dolphins

He gave an update on his health after practice.

"Good," Levis said when asked how he's feeling. "It was good to get back out there and feel it out. And, I feel good about where I'm at."

The Titans listed Levis as a full participant on the team's Injury Report.

"It's (a matter) of if I'm able to do everything that's going to be asked of me on Sunday," Levis said. "I got through today and felt it out, and I'm just going to see how it goes throughout the week. I feel good right now, and we'll see how the rest of the week goes.

"Obviously it's my first time throwing since coming back from it. I expect to be a little sore, but I'm just going to have to probably work through it and see where I'm at tomorrow."

Levis was injured in the first quarter against the Dolphins, and did not return. Back-up Mason Rudolph replaced Levis, and he guided the Titans to a 31-12 victory over the Dolphins.

In four starts this season, Levis has completed 67-of-98 passes for 604 yards and four touchdowns, but also with six interceptions and a total of nine turnovers total. Levis was 3-of-4 for 25 yards with an interception before leaving the Miami game with an injury.

Rudolph was 9-of-17 for 85 yards against the Dolphins. He threw just three passes in the second half on a night when the Titans picked up 142 of their 244 yards on the ground.

Levis said it was good to recover and rest during the bye week, and he wants to improve for the team moving forward.

"It sucks anytime you get an injury, but especially when it's to a body part that's so crucial to your career, your life and what you do. It's scary," Levis said. "I'm glad that I came off the field with the diagnosis that wasn't as bad as it could have been, and I'm working through it to make sure I can get back to where I was."
