NASHVILLE – The Titans plan to place cornerback L'Jarius Sneed and center Lloyd Cushenberry on the team's Physically Unable to Perform list at the start of training camp.
The news was announced at a press conference with President of Football Operations Chad Brinker and General Manager Mike Borgonzi on Tuesday, as players reported for training camp.
Sneed and Cushenberry can be activated from the PUP list as soon as they pass a physical.
Neither player took part in offseason work with the team, although Cushenberry did take part in stretch periods.
"He's making good progress right now," Borgonzi said of Cushenberry. "He's just not there yet. I would say he's week-to-week right now. Same thing with L'Jarius. He's going to start out on PUP. He's been working really hard in the offseason to get back, and he's week-to-week right now."
Cushenberry is still recovering from an Achilles injury he suffered last season, while Sneed continues to work his way back from the quad injury he dealt with last season, and during the offseason.
Borgonzi said Sneed also had a knee clean-up procedure in May, "which set him back a little bit." Right now, the knee is the biggest focus of Sneed, and the team's medical staff.
"But he is making progress," Borgonzi said. "He's really worked hard, and been here during the summer. He is headed in the right direction, and we're hopeful to get him back soon."
Players reported for training camp on Tuesday, and the first practice is scheduled for Wednesday at Ascension Saint Thomas Sports Park.
