Titans 1st Half Notes

TITANS INACTIVES: The Titans' eight inactives against the Jaguars were quarterback Rusty Smith (third quarterback); wide receiver Justin Gage; cornerback Jason McCourty; safety Robert Johnson; linebacker Rennie Curran; defensive tackle Amon Gordon; and offensive linemen Troy Kropog and Ryan Durand.

BRITT SCORES FOR FOURTH CONSECUTIVE GAME: In the first quarter, Vince Young connected with Kenny Britt on a 23-yard touchdown pass. With the score, Britt became the ninth player in franchise history to record a touchdown reception in four consecutive games.  It was the seventh touchdown of Britt's career.

GRIFFIN RECORDS THIRD INTERCEPTION OF SEASON: On a third-and-15 play in the second quarter, safety Michael Griffin intercepted a David Garrard pass intended for Tiquan Underwood.  Griffin, who notched his third interception of the season and 14th of his career, raced 13 yards on the return to the Jaguars' 37-yard line, helping to set up a touchdown on the ensuing drive.

COLLINS PASSES DAN FOUTS: After starting quarterback Vince Young left the game in the first quarter with a knee injury, 16-year veteran Kerry Collins entered the game in relief.  On his second completion, an 11-yard gain for Chris Johnson, Collins passed Dan Fouts (3,297 career completions) for 10th place on the NFL's all-time career completions list.

SCAIFE HAS BIG FIRST HALF: On the Titans' first touchdown drive, tight end Bo Scaife caught a 28-yard pass.  On their next touchdown drive in the second quarter, Scaife caught three passes for 25 yards, including a two-yard touchdown from Kerry Collins.  It was Scaife's second touchdown of 2010 and the 10th touchdown reception of his career.

BIRONAS EXTENDS STREAK: With a 26-yard field goal in the second quarter, Rob Bironas extended his streak of consecutive games with at least one field goal to 16 games.  Bironas is now within three games of his franchise–record 19 straight games with a field goal from 2006-07.

TULLOCH RECORDS BIG TAKEAWAY AGAIN: In the final minute of the second quarter, the Jaguars were threatening to score for the first time in the game.  Tight end Marcedes Lewis caught a pass from Trent Edwards, but he lost control of the ball at the Tennessee 10-yard line as he was being tackled by linebacker Stephen Tulloch.  Tulloch fell on the ball for his fourth career fumble recovery, ending the Jacksonville drive.  In the previous week's game at Dallas, Tulloch sealed the Titans' seven-point victory with an interception in the closing minute.
