Coach Whisenhunt's Thursday Practice Report

**

TITANS HEAD COACH KEN WHISENHUNT**

(on Zach Mettenberger's shoulder)

He's progressing. Like I said yesterday, we're optimistic that he'll be able to play, and he continues to improve. Hopefully that trend will continue and he'll be good to go Sunday.

(on facing Odell Beckham Jr.)

He's a talented player, obviously. We've talked about him in our room in the quarterback room because Zach (Mettenberger) played with him. In fact, Zach has said a couple of times how many catches he had. We're certainly aware that he is an explosive player and has made some plays.

(on if he wants Zach Mettenberger to do anything different in the game with his shoulder injury)

No, once you get into the game, you don't even think about it. Any time you worry about something like that, you're taking away from a lot of other things you have to do as a quarterback. If he's not in the position where he can go, he won't go. If we feel like that's not something that is going to bother him, I mean you always tell the quarterback not to take a hit, but that's whether he's healthy or not. I shouldn't say healthy or not, because he's not going to play if he's not healthy, but you can't get into their mind with things like that.

(on Derek Hagan and Kris Durham as receivers this week)

They'll get opportunities. That's the way this league is. Hopefully they'll step up and have some success. It would be great.

(on if Zach Mettenberger and Kris Durham's history together shows up on tape)

I would think that they've worked enough together… it really wouldn't make a difference.

(on if chemistry between a quarterback and a receiver can be seen on tape)

I think the chemistry develops when they throw and catch a lot of balls in a game situation. I think he's more confident about where those guys are going to be now because he's more confident with the offense. That, to me, is really what's important about chemistry.

(on the importance of taking advantage of upcoming home games)

I'm glad to have some games at home. It seems like we've been on the road for a while. It's obvious you have the advantage when you play at home, and we can use every advantage that we can get. We certainly need it. We're excited about being here. When you don't have to travel, maybe it'll give us a chance to start faster and do a little better early in some of these games.
