TITANS HEAD COACH MIKE MULARKEY PRESS CONFERENCE TRANSCRIP - October 5, 2017**

(on what he saw from quarterback Marcus Mariota today)

A little more, not a lot more, but a little more. Really being smart and listening to what he's saying about himself. Just a little bit more.

(on if it is positive that Marcus Mariota is was able to do more and didn't have a setback)

Yes, that's a positive. I think it has a lot to do with him being smart and what he's doing with the training staff and just realizing it's Wednesday and Thursday, still we've got some time.

(on how Marcus Mariota felt when he reentered Sunday's game)

Nothing more, he was really (in) no pain.

(on if Marcus Mariota can put weight on his injured leg)

He can stand there and throw right now.

(on if Marcus Mariota will have to show that he can move around before playing)

Oh yeah, he will. He will definitely have to do that.

(on if Dolphins wide receiver Jarvis Landry catches more passes at the line of scrimmage than any other receiver)

He catches a lot of them. He's a threat with the ball in his hands. He's about as tough of a receiver as I've seen lately, watching him play, not just running the football, but blocking, he pancakes guys. Our guys better be ready to take him on in the run game. He catches a lot because he has no fear of going over the middle, of quick hits, guys coming from the interior coming out to tackle him. He's got no fear.

(on the challenge of facing Jarvis Landry)

We've got to have guys turn and go to the ball and hit him. And maybe get him to stop doing that.

(on the Dolphins being a tough front to run against and the team's success against them last year)

I don't look at anything last year, we look at the film, we can't go 'we're going to do the same as we did.' You've seen that. We've got another plan for them, another way to attack them. It is a good front, but we feel pretty good about ourselves too upfront.

(on if this game can be a springboard for the rest of the season)

It's about this game. You guys can write and say what the ramifications of it (are). It's an important game for us for where we want to go. Nothing about anything else after that.

(on if the team will rely on special teams to boost the offense with the possibility of Marcus Mariota not playing)

To me that's every week, that's really every week. They hit us for a big touchdown last year, if I remember right, on a return, which typically you don't win games when you do that. We expect that from our special teams. We're getting better, we're close on some of these returns, we could use one. We need all three phases functioning at a high level, that's no different than any other week.

(on if this is a type of game that the team will try and slow down, regardless of who the starting quarterback is)

No, it hasn't been a discussion.
