49ERS HEAD COACH JIM HARBAUGH
(on the team rebounding after a rocky start)
With any team, the identity is forged in what you do and who you are as a ball club. There's always a process to that at the start of the year with regards to that.
(on turnovers the last few games)
The other teams (have) been opportunistic and played good team defense.
(on what Delanie Walker brought to the 49ers)
Well, he's certainly missed. I don't enjoy seeing him in a team jersey for the Titans as we prepare to play them this week. He's played very well as he did here. It's no surprise, but I have great memories of Delanie Walker as a teammate and friend. I wish him a long and healthy career.
(on whether Delanie Walker flew under the radar with the 49ers)
I know that we valued him greatly here on our team.
(on some of the things Delanie Walker brought to the 49ers)
He's smart, tough, loves football, was a great teammate, and he did it, maybe to your point, with very little fanfare. It was never all about him. He had broad shoulders. He was accountable to everything, the kind of guy that looks up to other guys and other teammates.
(on experiencing success after the quarterback change last season)
I don't really have that list in front of me.
(on impressions of Ryan Fitzpatrick)
I have great respect for him as a player. He's a pro, no surprise. He's in there playing well. The Titans are fortunate to have him.
(on differences between Jake Locker and Ryan Fitzpatrick)
I hate to compare two guys, two players. It seems somebody always gets diminished when you start comparing. They're both excellent football players in our estimation.
(on whether the Titans' team philosophy is different with Ryan Fitzpatrick)
Again, you're asking me to compare what the team's like when one's in there opposed to the other. They're both good. That's my answer.
(on the Titans' success forcing turnovers on defense)
They're the best we've seen at clubbing, punching, stripping, lawn mowering, just lodging it out from opponents. It's always a critical thing to our well-being to have ball security and not turn the ball over. It's emphasized weekly, daily, but, yes, this week we have to emphasize it even more. The Titans are excellent—the best we've seen.
(on Vernon Davis having a good game)
(It was) very important. (He's a) great player. That's what he does. I don't think it was an unordinary performance or rare performance. That's the kind of player he is, that's what he does.
