Titans in the Community
Mark Bohanon | Wesley Mortgage Community Hero
This week, Mark Bohanon is honored as the Wesley Mortgage Community Hero. On August 21, 2021 the Sanders family lost their home and everything they owned, but almost lost their lives (Libby and her son) from the Waverly Flood. Libby was taken a mile down the road by the water and the current ripped her son away from her. Libby's son was 8 years old (now is 9 years old) and he didn't know how to swim. He was found 4 hours later on the top of a shed. No one could get to him, but Mark wrapped a rope around himself and walked/swam to my son and crawled up on another roof to reach him and then he brought him back away from the rushing waters. He was so brave to go through those strong waters.
McKenzie Tuckson | Wesley Mortgage Community Hero
This week, McKenzie Tuckson was honored as the Wesley Mortgage Community Hero. McKenzie doesn't let her disability hold her back. She advocates for equal and fair treatment for students with disabilities within her school system. Because of her advocacy, Metro Nashville Public Schools revised their policies on the use of rifton belted chairs in the classroom. She was voted President of her Junior and Senior class by her peers.
