Biography

PRO: The Titans signed Joshua Williams early in the 2026 free agency period to add experience and depth to the secondary. The 6-foot-3-inch, 193-pound cornerback has a wealth of postseason prowess, having appeared in 10 playoff contests, including two Super Bowls, in his first four NFL campaigns.  The Fayetteville State product was selected by the Kansas City Chiefs in the fourth round of the 2022 NFL Draft and saw action in 65 games with 12 starts with the club.

CAREER HIGHLIGHTS:  
• In 2023, Williams helped the Chiefs capture the Super Bowl LVIII title after notching 17 tackles, five passes defensed, a stop for loss and a special teams stop.

TITANS TIDBITS:  
• Williams is of Kittitian descent. Following the Chiefs' victory in Super Bowl LVIII, he visited the Eastern Caribbean island nation of St. Kitts and Nevis and was honored by their federation. It is the native land of his father, George Williams, who formerly resided in Molineux.
• Williams was the first Fayetteville State player drafted in 46 years when he was taken by the Kansas City Chiefs in the fourth round in 2022. He was also the first player from Fayetteville State to be chosen for the Senior Bowl.

CAREER TRANSACTIONS:  
• The Fayetteville, N.C., native was selected by the Kansas City Chiefs in the fourth round (135th overall) of the 2022 NFL Draft.
• Signed by the Titans as an unrestricted free agent on March 12, 2026.

SEASON RECAPS:

2025 (15/0 - Kansas City):  Saw action as a reserve in 15 games and posted a career-best six special teams stops.  Was inactive for two contests.

2024 (17/6, 3/0 - Kansas City):  Played in all 17 games with six starts at cornerback and amassed 30 tackles, a sack, six passes defensed, two stops for loss and three special teams tackles.  Saw action in all three postseason contests and collected two special teams tackles.  
• Against Houston (12/21), posted five tackles, including his first career sack and a pass defensed. Dropped C.J. Stroud for a 12-yard sack on third-and-11 late in the fourth quarter.
• Against Philadelphia in Super Bowl LIX (2/9), saw action as a reserve and collected a special teams tackle.

2023 (16/2, 4/0 - Kansas City):  Appeared in 16 games with two starts at cornerback and posted 17 tackles, five passes defensed, a stop for loss and a special teams tackle.  Was inactive for one contest.  Saw action as a reserve in all four postseason contests and collected three tackles with two special teams stops.   
• At Minnesota (10/8), registered a season-best four tackles.
• Against San Francisco in Super Bowl LVIII (2/11), played as a reserve and collected a special teams tackle in the title victory.

2022 (17/4, 3/0 - Kansas City):  Saw action in all 17 games with four starts at cornerback as a rookie and recorded 39 tackles, an interception, seven passes defensed, a stop for loss and a special teams tackle.  Played as a reserve in all three postseason contests and tallied eight tackles, an interception and a special teams stop.
• Against Buffalo (10/16), notched a career-best nine tackles to go along with a pass defensed.
• At San Francisco (10/23), collected a tackle, his first career interception and a career-best three passes defensed. Intercepted a Jimmy Garoppolo pass intended for George Kittle in the end zone and returned it seven yards late in the second stanza.
• Against Cincinnati (1/29), registered four tackles with an interception in the AFC Championship Game. Picked off a Joe Burrow pass intended for Tee Higgins in the fourth quarter.

COLLEGE: 
• Was a three-year letterwinner at Fayetteville State and was a member of three Broncos' Southern Division championship teams.
• Played in 28 games during three seasons (2018-19, 2021) and posted 79 tackles, including four stops for loss, five interceptions (one returned for a touchdown) and 22 passes defensed. Registered one punt return for a touchdown.
• As a senior (2021), earned first-team All-Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association honors after playing nine games with seven starts and recording 31 tackles, three interceptions, including one returned for a touchdown and nine passes defensed
• As a junior (2020), the Broncos did not play the season due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
• As a sophomore (2019), saw action in 10 games with nine starts and tallied 32 tackles, two interceptions, 11 passes defensed and three stops for loss.
• As a freshman (2018), appeared as a reserve in nine games primarily as the nickelback and collected 16 tackles, two passes defensed and a stop for loss.
• Majored in management information systems at Fayetteville State.

• Attended Jack Britt (Fayetteville, N.C.) High School where he was a wide receiver until his senior season when he moved to cornerback.
• Completed a postgraduate year at Palmetto Prep in Columbia, S.C., to work toward becoming a college athlete.
