NASHVILLE, Tenn. -- A crowd estimated at 50,000 is expected to begin arriving at LP Field Tuesday afternoon for a 7 p.m. concert by the band One Direction. Downtown workers who normally travel in the vicinity of LP Field on the commute home are urged to consider other routes on Tuesday due to likely traffic congestion.

PARKING INFORMATION

LP Field parking lots will open at 3 p.m. Gates to LP Field will open at 5 p.m. There are approximately 4,500 first come-first served spaces available. The on-campus parking fee is $25 per vehicle. Once stadium parking lots become full, motorists will be directed into the downtown area to find available parking. It is suggested that concert goers plan their parking strategy by visiting www.parkitdowntown.com.

While not encouraged, it is anticipated that some parents will be dropping off their teenagers to attend the concert.

SOUTH PARENTAL DROP OFF ZONE (Preferred)

Parents arriving from the south should make their way to Shelby Avenue. Once they arrive at the intersection of Shelby Avenue and S. 2nd Street, they will be directed to Davidson Street and onto the LP Field campus. Concert goers may be let out of vehicles on Davidson Street/S. 1st Street near the base of the Seigenthaler Pedestrian Bridge.

Parents may begin lining up to return to the Shelby Street drop off area at 9 p.m. Officers will park them in the curb lanes of Davidson Street, S. 1st Street, S. 2nd Street and Shelby Avenue toward the west (downtown) only. After the concert, those parents will be directed back to the drop off zone.

NORTH PARENTAL DROP OFF ZONE

Parents arriving at LP Field from the north should make their way to Woodland Street and enter the LP Field campus at Woodland & S. 1st Streets. They will be guided to Russell Street where concert goers can safely get out of vehicles. Drivers will then exit Russell Street onto S. 2nd Street and will be directed eastbound on Woodland Street.

Parents may begin lining up to return to the Russell Street drop off zone at 9 p.m. Officers will park them in the curb lanes of the Woodland Street Bridge toward the west (downtown) only. The pickup zone will re-open at the conclusion of the concert, at which time vehicles will again be allowed to enter the LP Field campus. LP FIELD BAG RESTRICTIONS

All persons attending the One Direction concert are reminded that backpacks, large purses, coolers and similar items are prohibited from entering the stadium.
