Titans Sign Punter Tommy Townsend

NASHVILLE – The Titans have signed veteran punter Tommy Townsend.

Townsend, 29, spent the past two seasons with the Houston Texans after spending the previous four seasons with the Kansas City Chiefs.

Townsend finished the 2025 season with a 47.6-yard average on 72 punts, with a next average of 41.6, and with 30 punts inside the 20.

In his six-year NFL career, Townsend has punted in 100 games and averaged 47.6 with a net of 42.8, with 151 punts inside the 20-yard line.

Townsend began his collegiate career at the University of Tennessee, but he finished at Florida, where his older brother, Johnny, also punted.

Townsend was a part of two Super Bowl-winning teams with the Chiefs, where he was named first-team All-Pro in 2022, and a Pro Bowler. Townsend was selected to the PFWA All-Rookie team in 2020.

In Week 17 of the 2025 season while with the Texans, Townsend punted five times, with four landing inside the 20 in a win over the Chargers, and he was named AFC Special Teams Player of the Week.
