HEAD COACH MIKE MUNCHAK
(on the first half)
The defense just took over with the turnovers. We started with a safety and then, to get three turnovers, it was fun to watch. The offense converted, and we got a couple of touchdowns, which was great. Locker was able to get out of the pocket, use his legs a little bit and score. Then he had a nice touchdown pass as well. We wanted to give him an opportunity to make some plays, and he did.
(on the team agreeing to terms on a contract with Chris Johnson)
We're all excited about that. We knew it was just a matter of time. We didn't know when it was going to happen, but I'm glad it's over. I'm sure he is, too. It sounds like everyone's happy with how the deal went. Now we can just get down to football, and knowing that we have 10 days with him before the first game is a good thing.
QB MATT HASSELBECK
(on the offense's performance against the Saints)
I think turnovers were the story of the game. The defense did a nice job of creating turnovers, and the offense capitalized with touchdowns and field goals in the red zone.
(on evaluating the team through four preseason games)
I think we had a great preseason. To have accomplished what we've accomplished in such a short period of time, I think everybody feels really good about it. I know tonight was important for a lot of young guys that are trying to earn roster spots. There's going to be some tough decisions for our coaches and personnel staff, but I think everybody feels real excited about the make-up of our team right now.
LB BARRETT RUUD
(on how important it was to finish the preseason with a strong showing against the Saints)
You always want to play well. That's the key. We knew a lot of guys were going to play tonight, and it's nice to see that everyone on our team is competing and playing hard.
(on if he feels like the defense is ready for Week 1 at Jacksonville)
It's fun because it's a division game and it's on the road. I think it's tough for everybody because everyone had a short offseason, and everyone had a pretty abrupt training camp. It's time to do things for real though, and I think we're all excited.
