NASHVILLE – Titans defensive tackle Jeffery Simmons has been be named AFC Defensive Player of the Month for his dominating stretch to end the season.

The award includes five games for December/January (Weeks 14-18) against the Browns, 49ers, Chiefs, Saints and Jaguars.

Simmons recorded 26 tackles, 4.5 sacks, 27 quarterback pressures, seven tackles for a loss, two forced fumbles and three passes defensed in those five contests.

But that's not all Simmons did.

The final month capped a season when Simmons recorded a career-high 11 sacks while also recording 60 quarterback pressures, 67 tackles, 17 tackles for a loss and three forced fumbles.

This is Simmons' first time being named AFC Player of the Month, and the 28th time in franchise history a Titan/Oiler has earned the honor since the award was introduced in 1986.

Simmons is the first Titan to be named Player of the Month since Derrick Henry (Offensive) and Ryan Stonehouse (Special Teams) both earned the honor for the month of October 2022. He is the first Titans defender to win the award since Kevin Byard in October 2021.
