Nov. 29, 2009: Titans 20, Cardinals 17
There have been just nine regular season games between the two franchises, and this week's flashback highlights an improbable comeback that resulted from a 99-yard drive that concluded with a short touchdown pass from Vince Young to Kenny Britt with no time remaining.
The Titans took the ball with 2:37 remaining and converted three fourth downs on the drive, including the pass that Britt leaped high for and snatched in the back of the end zone amidst a trio of Cardinals defenders. Watch the comeback highlights.
Young completed a 10-yard pass to Britt on fourth-and-four just inside the two-minute warning and a 13-yard pass to Lavelle Hawkins, who got out of bounds to stop the clock with 37 seconds remaining. Jared Cook then converted a third-and-five play with a 17-yard catch-and-run to the Arizona nine-yard-line.
An incompletion, a sack for a loss of 1 and another incompletion set the stage for the dramatic play that began with six seconds remaining.
Despite the closeness in score, Tennessee out-gained Arizona by 240 yards in the game (532 to 292).
Young finished with a career-high 387 yards, with 128 going to Britt on a game-high seven catches, and Chris Johnson added 154 yards on 18 carries, including his third run at least 85 yards that season. Watch CJ's run.
Arizona answered the long touchdown immediately with a 99-yard kickoff return by LaRod Stephens-Howling to make it 13-10 in the third quarter, and added a touchdown early in the fourth quarter.
Johnson became the third player in NFL history to rush for at least 125 yards in six consecutive games, and the Titans became the first team to win five in a row after starting a season 0-6.
