"He is a big, athletic inside player. He should help us in the run game and he gives us a different body type," said Titans General Manager Ruston Webster. "I see him fitting in well with our current group of tackles, which will have a quality rotation of players."
Hill has appeared in 59 career games with 18 starts and has collected 95 tackles, four sacks, four fumble recoveries, a forced fumble and three passes defensed in four NFL campaigns. The last three seasons he has played in a talented, defensive-tackle rotation with the Lions.
The 6-foot-4-inch, 329-pound run-stopper appeared in 15 games with three starts last season and registered 15 tackles and three passes defensed. As a rookie in 2009, Hill appeared in 13 games with 12 starts and collected 26 tackles and two fumble recoveries. He followed up that campaign by appearing in 15 games in 2010 and posting career-highs with 30 tackles and 2.5 sacks.
A native of West Blocton, Ala., Hill was originally a fourth-round selection (115th overall) by the Lions in the 2009 NFL Draft. The Stillman product was a four-year collegiate starter and set the school record with 44.5 tackles for loss.
