211117-quick-hits

NASHVILLE – The Titans returned to the practice field on Wednesday at Saint Thomas Sports Park to begin preparations for Sunday's game vs the Texans at Nissan Stadium.

Some quick hits on the Titans after Wednesday's session:

-It was a light session, without helmets and pads. The Titans stretched, and then they worked on their conditioning at the start before a walk-through session.

-Guard Nate Davis (concussion) did not practice.

-Outside linebacker Bud Dupree (abdomen), who was injured in Sunday's game vs the Saints, did not practice.

-Defensive back Chris Jackson (foot) did not practice.

-Linebacker David Long Jr. (hamstring), who did not play vs the Saints, did not practice.

-Running back Jeremy McNichols (concussion) did not practice.

-Linebacker Rashaan Evans (ankle), who has missed the last three games, returned to practice on Wednesday on a limited basis.

-Outside linebacker Harold Landry (hamstring) was limited in Wednesday's practice.

-Cornerback Greg Mabin (ankle), who did not play vs the Saints, was limited in Wednesday's practice.

-Defensive lineman Kyle Peko (ankle), signed to the active roster on Wednesday, was limited in today's practice.

-Defensive lineman Jeffery Simmons (ankle) was limited in Wednesday's practice.

-Defensive lineman Teair Tart (groin), who did not play vs the Saints, was limited in today's practice.

-The Texans released their initial Injury Report on Wednesday, and it looked like this: LB Hardy Nickerson (concussion), QB Deshaun Watson (not injury related) did not practice. WR Danny Amendola (not injury related), TE Pharoah Brown (thigh), RB Rex Burkhead (not injury related), WR Brandin Cooks (not injury related) and DL Jonathan Greenard (foot) were all limited in practice.

-There was quite a development before practice, when defensive lineman Jeffery Simmons sacked the "Tickle Monsters" nickname that's been circulating about the defense. Titans fans @The\_Dylan\_Lane, @FWordsPod, @RobOnBroadway, @RyanOnBroadway, @MisterLebowski and Justin Graver of @titansfilmroom made a pretty good case for the moniker as featured in the video clip below.

But Simmons wasn't tickled with the suggestion.

In fact, he encouraged fans to come up with a better nickname.

-Tight end Tommy Hudson returned to practice on Wednesday after being moved to the team's "Designated for Return from Injured Reserve" list earlier in the day.

This designation opens up a 21-day window for Hudson to practice with the team, and he will not count against the team's 53-man roster until being activated from Injured Reserve.

-Receiver Cody Hollister, signed to the practice squad on Tuesday, was back on the practice field for the first time since his injury in training camp. Hollister has been assigned No. 16 once again.

-The Titans are scheduled to practice again on Thursday and Friday before holding a walkthrough on Saturday before Sundays' game vs the Texans.

-In addition to Titans HC Mike Vrabel, guard Rodger Saffold, defensive lineman Jeffery Simmons, cornerback Kristian Fulton, linebacker Monty Rice and safety Kevin Byard all talked to reporters before practice on Wednesday.
