Quick Hits After Wednesday's Titans Practice

210922-quick-hits

NASHVILLE – The Titans returned to the practice field on Wednesday at Saint Thomas Sports Park to begin preparations for Sunday's game against the Indianapolis Colts at Nissan Stadium.

Some quick hits after Wednesday's practice:

-Left tackle Taylor Lewan, inactive for Sunday's game in Seattle after a pregame setback, was on the practice field on Wednesday, and he was listed as a full participant on the team's Injury Report. Lewan looked good in the open portion of practice, working smoothly in drills without a knee brace. Lewan missed the end of the 2020 season with a torn ACL in his right knee.

-Linebacker Jayon Brown, who missed Sunday's game with a hamstring injury, did not practice on Wednesday.

-Tight end Anthony Firkser, who missed Sunday's game with a knee injury, did not practice on Wednesday.

-Left guard Rodger Saffold, who left Sunday's game with a shoulder injury, did not practice on Wednesday.

-Cornerback Caleb Farley, who missed Sunday's game with a shoulder injury, did not practice on Wednesday.

-Running back Derrick Henry, who carried the ball a career-high 35 times on Sunday in Seattle, was given the day off on Wednesday.

-Outside linebacker Bud Dupree (knee) did not practice on Wednesday.

-Titans receivers Julio Jones and A.J. Brown both practiced on Wednesday, although Brown was listed as a limited participant with a knee injury.

-Brown, who admittedly had a tough day on Sunday in Seattle, said he's looking forward to taking the field again on Sunday against the Colts.

-Center Ben Jones (knee) did not practice on Wednesday.

-OLB Derick Roberson (knee) was listed as limited in Wednesday's practice.

-Tackle Ty Sambrailo is listed on the Injury Report with a foot injury, but he was a full participant on Wednesday.

-The Colts release their initial Injury Report on Wednesday, and it looked like this: QB Carson Wentz (ankles), LB Jordan Glasgow (concussion) WR Zach Pascal (illness), CB Xavier Rhodes (calf) and T Braden Smith (foot/thumb) did not practice. WR Parris Campbell (abdomen) was limited in practice. S Justin Blackmon (shoulder) was a full participant.

-The big, bushy beard of defensive coordinator Shane Bowen is gone. Bowen showed up at practice on Wednesday clean-shaven, and looking a lot younger.

-The Titans promoted defensive lineman Naquan Jones from the practice squad to the active roster on Wednesday.

-New Titans practice squad defensive lineman Andrew Brown was on the practice field for the first time on Wednesday.

-Prior to practice, Titans head coach Mike Vrabel gave Tennessean columnist Gentry Estes a cookie for his birthday, which was on Monday. Earlier in the week, Vrabel brought out cookies for Teresa Walker of the Associated Press, and Dwight Spradlin of the team's media relations department.

-The Titans are scheduled to practice on Thursday and Friday before a walk-through on Saturday ahead of Sunday's game against the Colts.

-In addition to Brown, Titans quarterback Ryan Tannehill, defensive lineman Jeffery Simmons, safety Kevin Byard, defensive lineman Denico Autry, linebacker Ola Adeniyi and running back Jeremy McNichols all talked to reporters before practice on Wednesday.
