A Season to be Thankful for...

!
Hello Titans fans,

The holiday season is in full swing and even though Sunday's game ended differently than we had hoped, we still have a season to be thankful for. Being an NFL cheerleader is something that requires a lot of hard work, but it's nothing we ever take for granted. We are thankful for each and every moment we are Tennessee Titans Cheerleaders and one way we show our appreciation is by giving back to the community.

At every hometown game fans can see us at LP Field. But what some people don't know is how easy it is to find us around town. Each woman on the team is required to complete ten community appearances per season. But with so many opportunities, that is easily achieved and then some. Personally, one of the reasons I wanted to become a member of the team was because of the amount of community service we are part of. You can always visit our page at www.titansonline.com to see what appearances we have coming up in the community. By the end of the year, we will have completed close to 200 community appearances. And with each appearance lasting at least two hours, that's an estimated 400 hours of time we put back into the community that has supported the Titans for ten years.

I've been able to be part of some incredible community events that have truly touched and changed my life. Having lost a dear friend to leukemia in 2005, Light the Night is an important event that I've attended the past two years. I also attended a songwriter's event called Songs For A Cure last year that raises money for cancer research. But my heart was truly tested when I was able to visit St. Jude Children's Hospital this year with three other members from the team. It was overwhelming to see how many children – yes CHILDREN – were sick and literally praying for a miracle. Even though our hearts were breaking inside to see infants, toddlers, and young teens going through such an ordeal, we were there to put a smile on their faces. With a simple smile, a signing of a poster, and a picture we were able to lighten the load they were carrying just a little bit.

With Thanksgiving in just a few days, we have a lot to be thankful for. A football season that's for the record books, fans whose support continues to grow with each game, and most importantly – a community that is there for each other no matter what. There are countless ways to give back to the city and I've personally witnessed some incredible events as a Tennessee Titans Cheerleader. I encourage everyone to find an organization to donate their time, especially during the Holidays.

They say there are gifts that keep on giving and I truly think the cheer we are able to spread around the community is one of those gifts. I think smiles are contagious, and if we can be the catalyst to spread a little happiness then that is a job we will gladly take and be thankful to contribute.

I hope everyone has safe travels this week and here's to the Titans getting back on track this Thursday when we play Detroit. We'll see you at the game! GO TITANS!
