Biography

PRO: The Titans signed Cordell Volson early in the 2026 offseason to add experience and depth to the interior of the offensive line.  The Balfour, N.D., native was originally selected by the Cincinnati Bengals in the fourth round of the 2022 NFL Draft.  The 6-foot-6-inch, 315-pounder spent his first four NFL campaigns with the Bengals (2022-25) and appeared in 50 games with 48 starts.  The North Dakota State product has started games solely at left guard at the NFL level, but played both tackle and guard positions in college.

• Volson grew up in Balfour, N.D., a town with a population of 27.
• Cordell's older brother, Tanner Volson, was a center and Rimington Award winner for North Dakota State from 2014-18 before signing as an undrafted free agent with the Los Angeles Chargers. He also spent time with the N.Y. Giants.

CAREER TRANSACTIONS:  
• The Balfour, N.D., native was selected by the Cincinnati Bengals in the fourth round (136th overall) of the 2022 NFL Draft.

SEASON RECAPS:

2025 (0/0 - Cincinnati):  Placed on injured reserve on Aug. 27 and missed the entire season.

2024 (17/15 - Cincinnati):  Played in all 17 games for the second consecutive season with 15 starts at left guard.
• At Carolina (9/29), part of an offensive front that allowed zero sacks. Also run blocked for season-high 141 team rushing yards in the win.
• Against Las Vegas (11/3), helped open holes for Chase Brown's career-high 120 rushing yards, while protecting Burrow as he tied his career high with five touchdown passes.

2023 (17/17 - Cincinnati):  Started all 17 games at left guard and was one of two Bengals to play all 1,087 offensive snaps.
• Against L.A. Rams (9/25), played 55 offensive snaps, lining up primarily against Aaron Donald while blocking for an offense that totaled 309 net yards in the win.
• Against Buffalo (11/5), helped limit the Bills to one sack while pass protecting for Joe Burrow, who passed for season-high 348 yards on 44 attempts.
• At Jacksonville (12/4), played all 73 offensive snaps, contributing to pass
protection that allowed for Jake Browning's 354 yards on 37 attempts and
blocking for 156 rushing yards.

2022 (16/16, 3/3 - Cincinnati): Started all 16 regular season games (one game cancelled) and all three postseason contests at left guard as a rookie.  Was the only Bengals player to line up for every offensive snap (1,106) during the regular season.  Also played all 205 offensive snaps in the postseason.
• Against Carolina (11/6), helped open holes for Joe Mixon's 153 rushing yards and four rushing touchdowns.
• Against Kansas City (12/4), paved the way for Samaje Perine's 106 rushing yards on 21 attempts, while protecting Joe Burrow as he completed 80.6 percent of his passes (25 of 31).
• At Buffalo (1/22), blocked for 172-yard rushing effort on 34 carries in the divisional playoff.

COLLEGE: 
• Spent six years at North Dakota State (2016-21), playing in a school-record 65 games with 41 consecutive starts over his final three seasons. Helped the Bison win four FCS national championships (2017-19, 2021).
• Was a two-time captain that spent time at both guard and tackle positions, but primarily lined up as a right tackle.
• As a super senior (2021), named first-team FCS All-American after playing 623 regular-season snaps with zero sacks allowed. Started all 15 games at right tackle.
• As a senior (2020), named first-team FCS All-American. Started all 10 games, including the first two games of the spring season at left tackle before moving back to his previous position of right tackle. Moved to right guard for the two NCAA playoff games due to injuries on the offensive line. Also played part of one game at left guard
• As a junior (2019), named first team All-Missouri Valley Football Conference after starting all 16 games at right tackle.
• As a sophomore (2018), played in all 15 games as a member of the extra point and field goal unit.
• As a redshirt freshman (2017), appeared as a reserve in nine games.
• As a freshman (2016), sat out the entire season as a redshirt.
• Was a three-time MVFC Honor Roll recipient (2017-19).
• Graduated with a degree in general agriculture from North Dakota State in 2020.

PERSONAL:  
• Attended Drake-Anamoose (N.D.) High School where he was a five-year starter and two-time captain. Named two-time all-region and selected all-state twice, including first team honors in 2015.
• Played offensive and defensive line, tight end, fullback, linebacker, punter and kicker. Totaled 239 tackles, 28 sacks, five forced fumbles and six fumble recoveries in his career. Also blocked 14 punts and notched an interception.
• Was an all-district performer on the basketball court, averaging a double-double with 21 points and 15 rebounds per game. Set school records for points in a game (33) and blocked shots in a season (35).
• Son of Ralph and Wendy Volson of Balfour. Has an older brother, Tanner, and two younger brothers, Zack and Kyle.
