Marquand Manuel is in his first season with the Titans and his 14th season coaching in the NFL following an eight-year NFL playing career as a safety. He joined the Titans after a one-year stint with the New York Giants.

Manuel's role with the Giants in 2025 was secondary coach/pass game coordinator. Seven members of the secondary started at least six contests, including second-year cornerback Dru Phillips, who led the Giants defense with 12 passes defensed and tied for the team lead with two interceptions. Cornerback Cor'Dale Flott set career highs with 14 starts and 11 passes defensed.

Manuel served as the defensive backs/safeties coach for the New York Jets from 2021 through 2024. Over his final three seasons with the club, the Jets defense ranked in the top five in fewest passing yards allowed per game, including the second-best mark in the NFL in 2023 (168.3).

Manuel guided a Jets safeties group in 2023 that recorded 10 interceptions, the second-most in the NFL. Safety Jordan Whitehead led the club with four interceptions, followed by fellow safeties Ashtyn Davis and Tony Adams, who had three apiece.

Before his time with the Jets, Manuel was the defensive backs coach for the Philadelphia Eagles in 2020.

Manuel served as the defensive coordinator of the Atlanta Falcons from 2017 to 2018 after spending the 2015 and 2016 seasons as the secondary coach/senior defensive assistant on staff. During his time as the defensive coordinator, Atlanta had two players—outside linebacker Deion Jones and safety Keanu Neal—voted to the 2017 Pro Bowl.

While on Atlanta's staff in 2016, Manuel made a coaching appearance in Super Bowl LI after helping lead Atlanta to an 11-5 regular season record, an NFC South Division title and a first-round bye in the playoffs.

Manuel began his NFL coaching career as a special teams assistant with the Seattle Seahawks in 2012. He later was named a defensive assistant in 2013 and then an assistant secondary coach in 2014. In his three seasons in Seattle, the team appeared in two Super Bowls, including Super XLVIII, when Seattle defeated the Denver Broncos by a final score of 43-8.

Selected by the Cincinnati Bengals in the sixth round (181st overall) of the 2002 NFL Draft, Manuel played eight seasons (2002-09) in the NFL. He totaled 116 games played with 58 starts and totaled 332 tackles, 16 passes defensed and two interceptions during his time with Cincinnati, Seattle, Green Bay, Carolina, Denver and Detroit. He was a starter for the Seahawks against the Steelers in Super Bowl XL.

Manuel attended the University of Florida, where he totaled six interceptions, 308 tackles and eight sacks from 1998 to 2001. A three-year starter for the Gators, he served as a leader on Florida's SEC Championship team in 2000 that earned a berth in the Sugar Bowl.

While at Florida, he earned his bachelor's degree in criminology and law.

The Miami, Fla., native has two children: Madison and Marquand II.
