K.S. "Bud" Adams, Jr. enrolled at Culver Military Academy in Indiana at age 14 in 1937.

While at Culver Military Academy, Bud Adams lettered in football, basketball and baseball.

While attending aircraft maintenance school at Millington Naval Air Station, Lt. Adams received a visit from his future wife Nancy. They wed in 1946 and enjoyed 62 years of marriage until her passing in 2009.
