NASHVILLE – Veteran edge rusher Lorenzo Carter has informed the Titans of his plans to retire.
A third-round draft pick in the 2018 NFL Draft, Carter signed with the Titans back in March after playing previously with the Giants (2018-2021) and Falcons (2022-2024).
Carter took part in the team's offseason program, including OTAs and minicamp.
Carter will be placed on the league's Reserve/Retired list.
"He notified us yesterday that he will be retiring," Titans General Manager Mike Borgonzi said, "so we wish him well."
A 6-foot-5, 265-pounder, Carter has played in 96 games, with 62 starts, and he's tallied 278 tackles with 21.5 sacks and 35 tackles for a loss, 18 passes defensed, five forced fumbles and four fumble recoveries in his career. Carter played in 13 games, with 11 starts, in 2024 with the Falcons.
The Titans currently have seven edge rushers on the team's roster: Arden Key, Dre'Mont Jones, Femi Oladejo, Jaylen Harrell, Ali Gaye, Titus Leo and Desmond Evans.
The first practice of training camp is set for Wednesday.
