Titans QB Will Levis Improving, Expected to Practice This Week

NASHVILLE – Titans quarterback Will Levis is improving, coach Brian Callahan said on Monday.

It was part of Callahan's encouraging update as it relates to Levis and his right shoulder injury after the team returned from the bye week.

"We'll give him one more day before he gets back into a weekly routine on Wednesday," Callahan said of Levis, "and (he) should be ready to roll. Stay tuned for any updates or changes, but expect him to be in the practice routine this week."

Levis, who suffered a shoulder injury in last Monday night's game vs the Dolphins, has made progress after some rehabilitation in recent days.

The Titans return to action on Sunday against the Colts at Nissan Stadium.

"He got a little treatment – he was here for most the week, and the weekend he got out for a day or two like everybody else did," Callahan said of Levis. "He is improving, so we'll see where he's at when we practice on Wednesday. He's definitely better than he was after the game."

Levis was injured in the first quarter against the Dolphins, and did not return. Back-up Mason Rudolph replaced Levis, and he guided the Titans to a 31-12 victory over the Dolphins.

"If he's good to practice and good to go, then he's going to play," Callahan said. "Unless (the shoulder) is affecting his ability to do his job. …. If it still hurts a ton and he is having trouble throwing effectively and all those things, it is a whole different conversation.

"We'll see how the week of practice goes, but I feel pretty good about where he should be at."

In four starts this season, Levis has completed 67-of-98 passes for 604 yards and four touchdowns, but also with six interceptions and a total of nine turnovers total. Levis was 3-of-4 for 25 yards with an interception before leaving the Miami game with an injury.

Rudolph was 9-of-17 for 85 yards against the Dolphins. He threw just three passes in the second half on a night when the Titans picked up 142 of their 244 yards on the ground.

Callahan said he doesn't expect Levis to be "pain free."

"That's just the nature of a throwing shoulder injury," Callahan said. "But you do your best to manage it. As long as he feels he can do his job, then he is going to go do it."
