NASHVILLE – The Titans rewarded Peter Skoronski with a new, lucrative, long-term contract extension.
Now, the veteran guard wants to reward the team for believing in him, and making him a part of the future for many years to come.
"I think that's a good way to put it," Skoronski said. "But for me personally, my process has always been my process, and that's to be the best player I can be. The team rewarded me by picking me high three years ago, and that has been my process ever since, to be the best player that I can and help the team win.
"This is obviously a huge blessing, but for me the process stays the same and that is being the best player I can. I think that is all I can do to reward the team the best I can and to give back to what they gave me."
The Titans and Skoronski on Friday reached an agreement on a multi-year contract extension.
Earlier this offseason, the Titans picked up the fifth-year option for Skoroniski's rookie contract, but the team and Skoronski's agents continued to work on a long-term deal.
Skoronski, drafted 11th overall in the 2023 NFL Draft, finished the 2025 season with 17 starts at left guard for the second year in a row. He was the team's only player who did not miss an offensive snap during the season. Skoronski has started 48 games over the past three seasons.
Through 2025, Skoronski's 48 starts are the most for the team in its "Titans era" (1999 to present) before a player's 25th birthday (July 31, 2026). His streak of 47 consecutive starts at the conclusion of 2025 made up the team's longest active streak.
Skoronski said after Friday night's scrimmage he didn't have timeline for getting a deal done, he left that to his agent, and the Titans.
His goal now is to continue striving to be one of the best guards in the league, and to help the team win.
He's happy the Titans believe in him.
"I think every player's goal is to be a part of a franchise and to help a franchise win, and I guess really be wanted," Skoronski said. "It's such a transitory league, people are in and out and to have a team commit to you like the Titans have, I feel blessed and feel really lucky to be a part of it.
"My goal, my standard, is the same as when I came in, to be the best left guard that I possibly can and to help the team win. I just have to do that the best that I can."
