TITANS HEAD COACH JEFF FISHER
(on the first half)
Offensively, we just have to finish drives. We put drives together but weren't finishing. We did some good things and had some opportunities, but we didn't take advantage of them, mainly because we couldn't catch the football. We killed ourselves. Defensively, we did a good job playing on the short field and holding them to three points. We got a sack and some pressure and forced them into some long down-and-distances and also forced some penalties. We need to contain the football. They have a dynamic return game, and we need to do a better job. In the second half, we're going to roll people. We have a lot of people we have to look at because we have a short week next week.
QB VINCE YOUNG
(on the offense's performance in the first half)
We did all right out there. We made some plays. Any time you get out there on the first drive and put some points on the board, that's a good thing. We're looking for seven points, but we'll take three, especially on the road.
DE JEVON KEARSE
(on recording his first sack of the preseason)
It was a great feeling. Not only to get my first sack of the preseason, but to get it with my No. 90 jersey on. Coach Washburn tells us there are three things to focus on when rushing the passer: get off the ball, focus on angle point and know what to do after watching film. They tried a bootleg to my side, and I stayed on my angle and made the play.
(on matching Atlanta's intensity in the first half)
When watching film this week, the coaches said the Falcons play tough and to the whistle. We wanted to match that physical play, and I think we did.
