NASHVILLE, Tenn. -- The Tennessee Titans hired Jonathan Gannon as Defensive Assistant/Quality Control. Additionally, Arthur Smith, who was served as Defensive Assistant/Quality Control last year, will be Offensive Assistant/Quality Control this year.
Gannon joins the Titans after three years as a scout with the St. Louis Rams. Last year, he served as a Pro Scout for the Rams and was a college scout in his first two seasons with the team. Previous to his time as a scout, Gannon was the defensive quality control coach for the Atlanta Falcons in 2007. He started his coaching career at his alma mater, Louisville, as a graduate assistant on defense in 2006. He played safety for the Cardinals before suffering a career-ending hip injury.
The move for Smith gets him back to his offensive roots, where he played and coached the offense line at the University of North Carolina.
