S Talanoa Hufanga

On playing his first regular season game at Empower Field at Mile High

"I'm just blessed to be here. This was an incredible opportunity on a new team for me to be here, [be] part of a great organization. The fans really brought it today. I have to get used to it. It was a little loud. I was trying to get the calls out there. During the fumble, I was just doing whatever they asked me to do. The game is violent. I'm not trying to hurt anybody, I'm just trying to go down there, get the guy down and get the ball out. I really didn't even try to see the ball. The ball just ended up coming out because I was trying to stick my nose in there."

On QB Bo Nix

"It's a team sport, so that's the cool thing. Regardless of the outcome, whether he throws interceptions, we have to do our part defensively. We have to step up too. I have a lot of confidence in Bo. I wouldn't be wearing this shirt if I didn't have confidence in my guy. He's a devout Christian man that goes out there and leads us. Regardless of what type of day he has, I know that I have his back and he has mine. I'm just excited to go out there and this debrief is exactly what we need for week two. In game one, you have no idea what the other team is doing. You have no idea what [Titans QB] Cam Ward is going to bring to the table, what Bo is going to bring to the table, that is the fun thing about it. It's a chess match. We went out there and we have to compete. Regardless of the situation, we have to handle adversity and step up when they ask you to step up and play good football."

On if this defense is what he envisioned when signing in Denver

"Most definitely. Our front seven is so good. Our back end is good too, don't get me wrong. We have the Defensive Player of the Year back there too and some good dogs. That front seven really got after them today. I'm just happy to be part of it."

On S Brandon Jones

"The cool thing about us is that we talk every day. I've been part of teams where some safeties don't get to interact. Not in a bad way, but for me it just seems like he's been a brother, and I just got here. We play that way. We're out there, we're trying to just play together and play fast. I'm going to give him his flowers. Nobody knows that he is the first one in every single day. A lot of people are the first people, but when I tell you, he is [a] 4 a.m. first person. He's swimming before he gets to the facility. This is during training camp. He's a guy who goes above and beyond. I would love to give him his flowers. Nobody sees that type of stuff. He's teaching me what work ethic really looks like. He's a guy that just runs around. He can run a freaking marathon. I think anybody on the team knows he just runs for fun. I'm just like dude, relax and chill. But that's a testament to the character that he has. He's a guy that I trust when I'm out there and he trusts me, too."

On the challenge of holding an offense scoreless

"I've only been part of one game that gave up zero points. But that is our goal. A lot of people want to hold opponents under 17, that's the NFL number. If you can hold teams under 17, you have a good chance to win. Our defense wants to keep them at zero if we can. Those challenges of being put in uncomfortable situations, it gets you going. Those are things you strive to do and be a part of. These fans are waiting for you to make a play, your team is relying on you, and I'm relying on my teammates to be in the right spot at the right time. We are 1-0 but by no means was it perfect. We have to come back, do this debrief like [Head] Coach [Sean Payton] talks about, come back next week and try to do it again."
