NASHVILLE, Tenn. - Pro Bowl safety Michael Griffin has been selected to lead Titans Caravan XII on Wednesday, April 15, the third day of the team's annual tour throughout Tennessee, Kentucky and Alabama.  Griffin will make appearances in Elmwood, Mt. Juliet, Glasgow, Ky., Bowling Green, Ky., and Springfield.

Along with six-time Pro Bowl mascot T-Rac and the "Voice of the Titans" Mike Keith, Griffin will start the day with three school visits:  a 9:00 a.m. stop at Forks River Elementary School in Elmwood, a 10:45 a.m. appearance at Stoner Creek Elementary School in Mt. Juliet and a 1:15 p.m. program at Eastern Elementary School is Glasgow, Ky.   The school stops are closed to the general public.

The school program, which will be performed a total of 14 times before an estimated 15,000 children on this year's Caravan, will emphasize the need to stay healthy by exercising.  Through the NFL's "Play 60" program, the Titans will campaign throughout the 2009 season to get kids to spend at least 60 minutes each day in active play or exercise.  The crucial message will be delivered in hopes of making the current youth the most active and healthy generation ever.

Following the program in Glasgow, Ky., the Caravan then will make two public stops during the remainder of the day: a 3:00 p.m. appearance at Kroger in Bowling Green, Ky., and a 5:00 p.m. visit to the Kroger in Springfield.  Fans will have an opportunity to get autographs from Griffin, T-Rac and Keith at both of the public stops.  Each public stop is free, open to the public and will last approximately one hour.

Griffin is entering his third season with the Titans after being drafted by the team in the first round of the 2007 NFL Draft.  He was named to his first Pro Bowl in 2008 after finishing tied for second in the NFL with a team-best seven interceptions.  One of the league's premier safeties, Griffin also registered career-highs with 81 tackles, 12 passes defensed and 17 special teams tackles last season.  He sealed the Titans' regular season victory over the Pittsburgh Steelers on Dec. 21 with an 83-yard interception return for a touchdown.

Titans Caravan XII will make a total of 44 stops over a span nine travel days.  In addition to using the Caravan as a way to thank the team's fans throughout the Mid-South, this year's Caravan will celebrate the organization's 50th season in professional football.

Over the last 11 years, Titans Caravan has made nearly 600 stops, traveled approximately 50,000 miles, visited over 200 schools and shaken hands with over 100,000 fans. The number of autographs signed and pictures taken is estimated to be in the hundreds of thousands.

Titans Caravan began in 1998 as a small effort to spread goodwill through the region. The current Caravan includes six full-time staffers that travel with Titans players, broadcasters and T-Rac throughout the Mid-South on a specially-decorated motor coach from Premiere Transportation.
