McCourty to Take Kids Shopping Dec. 21

NASHVILLE, Tenn. -- Titans cornerback Jason McCourty is teaming up with Youth Encouragement Services (Y.E.S.) out of Nashville on Dec. 21 to host his first annual "Shop with a Jock" charity shopping event.

McCourty will take 20 children from Y.E.S. holiday shopping and purchase each child a gift or several of his or her choice (each child will have a budget) for the holiday season.  This will be the first annual "Shop with a Jock" event hosted by McCourty.

"I remember growing up and making my Santa list, then waking up on Christmas morning seeing a tree filled with gifts," McCourty said. "Shop with a Jock will allow me to bring some gifts and smiles to a few others."

Youth Encouragement Services (Y.E.S.) operates three centers in inner city Nashville providing after-school and summer programs for children from kindergarten through high school. Daily programs such as tutoring, summer camp, a basketball league, job skills training, and other educational, recreational and cultural activities offer low-income children a positive alternative to the streets and opportunities for a bright future.
