LB Devin White

On what he saw from the sack to set up the first touchdown...

Devin White: "We ran that play in practice and they blocked it, practice squad guys blocked it, so I was ready. I made a play in practice on it, obviously I didn't hit the quarterback, but I knew that I was going for the ball if they double Maxx [Crosby]. And they went over there and chipped Maxx, so I knew it was going to leave me free."

On what was working for the defense on third downs...

White: "I think the emphasis was just giving them different looks. Being able to run multiple looks for a young quarterback and just switch it up and not be one-dimensional with our fronts, with our coverages, and just kind of keep them off balance. We did a good job doing that. E-Rob [Elandon Roberts], he owned the middle all day, allowed me to roam and be free on the backside, to be able to snip out of our play. We could do a lot of things when we're clicking like that."

On what contributed to his complete game...

White: "I think my coach, JG [Linebackers John Glenn], he worked hard, he always talked about it and being positive. We work on these things in practice, we don't just come out here and do it. We actually do drills to simulate the things that we're doing. Obviously, we've got a lot of stuff to clean up, so I know the drill is going be even harder this week, but it is what it is. We got the win, everybody's happy. But now we've got to flush that and on to the next."

On what it means to be playing at high level again...

White: "It means a lot, but it's a credit to just playing complementary football. When the offense is moving the ball and we get some scores, we don't have to be one-dimensional defense, and I think it's just played right into my game, and just being able to just go fly around. But once we're down and a team's just running the ball, just to run the clock, it's hard to do anything, it's hard for anybody to do anything. That's just a test to the team with football."

On if he feels he's approaching his All-Pro level again...

White: "I feel like I've got a lot more work to do. Like I said, I've got to clean some things up. Sometimes I just be running too damn fast, but at the end of the day, I'd rather run fast than be out there not giving my all for my team, and I think it shows. I think one week at a time. I've got to put together a full season, and then I can start talking about myself, being back to when I was playing at a very, very high level. It's also going to come from the coaching staff putting me in the position, and my teammates trusting me to be where I'm supposed to be to make these plays."
