LB Cody Barton

LINEBACKER CODY BARTON

Did the way the first half ended gave the team momentum heading into the second half?

Yeah, absolutely. But that being said, there's still a whole second half to play. You want to have the momentum, which we did. But when it comes to the second half, you've still got to be together as a team, keep that competitive standing like I just said earlier, and play the whole game.

Cody this next week, the Colts, how important is it to start off the right way against a divisional opponent?

Yeah, division game, these are very important games and so we're going to attack this week. We're obviously going to (inaudible). But then when it comes to this next opponent, we're going to attack this week and we're looking to get a win.

Is this team doing enough to let Cam (Ward) do what Cam can do? Because at his best, we see him be pretty effective.

Yeah, Cam (Ward) makes some awesome plays. I'll say this, as a team, whether it's offense or defense, we didn't do enough to win the game. You know, when it comes to the penalties we're just— we didn't do enough as a team to win the game, that's it.

Cody, does that touchdown right before ignite your play to get the interception at all, fire you up at all, the Cam (Ward) touchdown?

Yeah, definitely it does, it gets the energy going on the sidelines gets us all excited. So, we want to go out there once they once they get a touchdown, get the ball back to our offense and have them do it again. And so that's just complementary football. So we just need to keep improving the team playing together complementary football that makes sense.

How did you react to that play, that touchdown?

I was excited, jumping up and down. We love to see that. Cam (Ward) making an amazing throw on the run. That's something that's not new to us. Like I said, if we keep playing complementary football and on defense, getting stops, we need to get stops, getting the ball back to the offense, the offense taking care of the time of possession or whatever it is, get on— convert on third down, scoring, putting points on the board, those wins will start to stack up.

What were the Rams doing well in the third quarter that the Titans were not?

I'm not sure there was— it was all a bunch of random stuff, whether it was a misfit here, misfit there, a miscommunication on the back, we'll go over that tomorrow. There was some plays that just led to just bleeding that clock and just getting those yards and just, yeah, I don't know. We'll look at it tomorrow.

How frustrating is it when your offense is struggling to put the ball in the endzone while the Rams offense was?

It's frustrating when you look at it from a step back, but during it, you just got to take and— Tyler Lockett talked to the team after the game, and he had a great message. It was just about no matter what just happened, a previous play, whatever they call in, whether it's on offense, defense, special teams like that is the most important play, right? And so, you just got to just focus on the task at hand. So, whatever that play is called, just keep that playing. So, once they come off a big gain, whatever the next play is, the next play is, we can worry about what happened on the sideline. But after a big game like that, we've got to focus on the next play and just play our game.

Did you bait (Matthew) Stafford into that pick?

No, I wouldn't say I baited him. I would just say I was showing down the B-gaps. I knew it was a long way to go, so I just had to haul ass to get out there.
