Head Coach Jonathan Gannon

Opening statement:

"Alright, (on the) injury front 87 (TE Tip Reiman) had an ankle/knee (and) was not able to return. 50 had a knee, (LB) Cody Simon. Cody Simon had a knee (and) was not able to return, and then 1 (QB Kyler Murray) had a look at his foot, but then he returned. Obviously, very disappointing. (It) felt like we had multiple chances to put away the game in all three phases, and we did not do that, so collectively we have to do a better job. It feels like that's now three games in a row that I'm saying the same thing, but until we do a better job, we're going to keep losing. (It's) never about one play. (It's) never about one phase. All of us collectively have to do a better job, so that's what we'll work on tomorrow. Our sense of urgency and our connectedness is always there. It obviously needs to increase because time's ticking."

On his message to the team after the loss:

"Just that."

On why the offense is struggling to close out games:

"We have to get first downs. Point blank."

On if he's still OK with the offensive coaching and why:

"Yeah. We have spurts in games that we can do whatever we want right now. We just have to put it together for four quarters."

On the biggest turning point offensively:

"We generated some explosives (with) staying on the field, playing penalty free, not taking sacks and then we had some penalties that hurt. We get behind the sticks with sacks and then (in) the passing game they made some plays, but we have to stay on the field and convert third downs. That's what it comes to. You have to stay on the field and get drives going. Like I said, we had chances and just didn't do it."

On his explanation for the level of sloppiness on offense:

"I don't know. It's on me. I have to go back to my drawing board and do a better job because it's unacceptable."

On his message to RB Emari Demercado after his fumble:

"It's never about one play. We have coaching points that I'm not going to tell you guys now."

On his thought process on the last offensive drive:

"Yeah, we were in four-minute mechanics, but I understand what we were trying to do there. Did we put them in the best chance to gain a first down there? I don't know. We have to look at it. Typically, you're trying to make them burn timeouts where that was on the clock. I get it. I just have to do a better job and get a first down."

On who made the decision on the last offensive drive:

"Collectively, we do. (Offensive Coordinator) Drew (Petzing) obviously (is) calling the game, but I know what he's calling."

On the reflection process after three straight losses:

"Yeah, all over the place. We had some good reflection. It seems like we haven't played in forever coming off that Thursday night. You look in the mirror and you made some adjustments. We tweaked a couple things. I think we coached the details, but we're not coaching the details well enough. That's ultimately what it comes down to. (I) give them credit and I didn't see (Titans Head) Coach (Brian) Callahan. He's probably celebrating, but to give them credit they coached and played better than we did. That's what the NFL is. I think our guys realize that, but I did tell them (that) everybody in there from staff, to the coaches to the players—to everybody in there, the clock is ticking. It doesn't matter if you're a number one overall pick, a Pro Bowl safety, a third year head coach, a first year assistant. It doesn't matter. We have to do a better job and close out games."

On what it's like having 10 days to prepare and self-scout but fall short of a win:

"Well, I thought it was paying dividends early. All three phases looked good and then we kind of lost our juice there and got beat. 60 minutes. You have to play 60 minutes."

On S Dadrion Taylor-Demerson's INT and fumble:

"Yeah, they cut it to two, I think. (It was a) big play and sometimes the ball takes 20 bounces. I've seen that happen (with) the crazy bounces before. It's unfortunate, but it happens."

On the snap off of Murray's face:

"I don't know that, I really don't. I don't know what cadence we were on at that point if the ball came out to fast or if he wasn't ready. I don't know, but that goes into what you're talking about (with) the sloppiness, which if we keep doing that we're not going to win a game."

On the pre-snap issues today:

"How many false starts did we have? I know we had one illegal formation, right? That was on a third down off the injury with Tip's injury. We have to do a better job of there (with) day one install and get lined up where you need to get lined up so we can get off the play and we're all not discombobulated. It ultimately falls on me to coach better so our guys know exactly what to do on a day one install play."

On how he prevents these three tough losses from snowballing:

"That's easy. You go right back to your process and do it better. I thought you were going to ask me (about if) you lose like we just did in three games like that. You're behind the eight ball at 2-3 and you feel like you gave one away, whatever. That's in the past. We've got good players in there that care. They're mentally trained and they'll go back to work tomorrow."

On if this is the worst he's felt after a loss yet:

"I don't know that. We've had some bad ones. They're all the same to me, honestly."
