INDIANAPOLIS – On Tuesday, Titans head coach Robert Saleh spoke glowingly about Miami edge rusher Rueben Bain.

A day later, Bain said he's met with the Titans at the NFL Combine, and he got great vibes.

It turns out Bain is already intrigued by Tennessee, because of quarterback Cam Ward, a former Hurricane himself. Bain and Ward were teammates at Miami for a season.

"I actually spoke to Cam every time he came back to campus," Bain said on Wednesday. "He always told me he was going to make sure, if I'm still there, he was going to get me (to Tennessee). Hopefully things end up the right way.

"The interaction with (the Titans) was great, had a formal interview. We killed it, went it and approached everything with the right mindset."

Titans GM Mike Borgonzi was asked about Bain's assessment that he "killed" his interview with the Titans.

"He did really well, yeah," said Borgonzi, who also noted Texas Tech's David Bailey and Ohio State's Arvell Reese also impressed the team in interviews. "All those guys are smart football players, too. ... All three of those guys impressed."

The Titans are scheduled to pick fourth overall in the upcoming NFL Draft.

Bain (6-3, 270) led all of FBS with 83 pressures in 2025 while racking up 20.5 sacks and 33.5 tackles for a loss in three seasons at Miami.

On Tuesday, Saleh said this about Bain:

"With a young man like Bain, I don't know if his testing has come in yet, but his tape is undeniable," Saleh said. "You know, he's an unbelievable football player. He plays with great violence. His football IQ is off the charts. So you trust that a guy like him and his makeup is going to translate the way it needs to."

So, why did Bain think he killed his interview with the Titans?

"I felt like it was my energy," Bain said. "My energy and my football IQ, I came in knowing what to talk about and what to say, knowing football like the back of my hand, knowing football like my last name. I vibed and connected really well because we all talked ball."
