NASHVILLE, Tenn. - Defensive end Derrick Morgan, the Titans' first-round pick of 2010, will miss the season opener after having arthroscopic surgery on his left knee.

Morgan tore his ACL in Tennessee's fourth game as a rookie, and he had been cleared before training camp. But the player from Georgia Tech felt something in the knee during the Titans' second preseason game at St. Louis.

Coach Mike Munchak said Tuesday that Morgan had the surgery when he visited Dr. James Andrews on Monday in Alabama. Andrews performed the original surgery on Morgan's knee.
