HEAD COACH JEFF FISHER
(on facing the Packers' 3-4 defense and how that will benefit going into the opener at Pittsburgh)
It gives us a chance. We have the cumulative affect over a few weeks. There's a benefit, suppose they do keep things basic, that we don't have to go out and do things that we would carry on in the opener. We're hoping things are basic but we have to be prepared.
(on the Packers preseason defensive performance)
They're plus 10 takeaways already. The defense is putting great pressure on the quarterback and they're tackling well. Offensively, they're moving the ball up and down the field so it's going to be a good test. It's going to be a game where there's going to be a lot of real solid one-on-one matchups.
(on releasing Rafael Little)
He improved. He really improved over the last couple weeks. We got a situation where we need to get through the ball game and that was one of the positions where we had big numbers at. We felt like it was just best to give the other guys an opportunity.
(on the upcoming game possibly determining who handles kick returns)
We know Ryan (Mouton) can do it and he's improving. Mark (Jones) will get another opportunity at it and we'll probably give Javon Ringer an opportunity as well.
(on Mark Jones)
We backed him down for non-specific reasons.
(on Nate Washington)
He's improving. He's encouraged and he's improving. He's much better than he was last week. He clearly won't play Thursday but he's got his eye on the opener so we'll just have to wait and see.
(on how much Vince Young will play)
He's going to play quite a bit and we'll get Pat (Ramsey) in the ball game and Kerry (Collins) is also going to play.
(on if Kerry Collins will start)
Kerry will play, yes. Everybody's is going to play. How much really depends on the individual positions. We're healed up, we've got Jason Jones back on the field and Dave Stewart back on the field starting to look in good shape.
(on if players will sit out the Packers game to rest and prepare for the regular season)
I think if anybody's healthy and able to play, they'll play.
