TITANS HEAD COACH JEFF FISHER**

(are you aware one of your home fields has a new name now?)

"I noticed that there was a change. That's good for the organization."

*(we can't get you to say anything good about that?) *

"Was that 11 years ago, or 12?"

(on if it seems like every time the Jaguars play a pivotal game, it is against the Titans)

"I think every game is important. Certainly this is our first division game and I don't have to tell you how the division's stacked up right now, so it takes on a significant importance. I think it's going to be a great ball game."

*(on if Chris Johnson is the same guy he was last year) *

"Yes, he is the same running back."

*(on if Johnson is living up to his expectations) *

"What's most important to him is winning games. He's a very unselfish player; he sets his sights very high. He's still ahead of where he was last year after five games, got a few more carries, but he's ahead of where he was last year. He probably had his best game of the year last weekend against a very very good Dallas Cowboy defense."

*(on how he compares Johnson to Maurice Jones-Drew) *

"At the end of the day they're very, very similar statistically. They're two different types of runners obviously, but they both accomplish the same thing and that's make big plays and keep the chains moving and they have the ability to make the home run every time they take the ball."

*(on if both teams are trying to stop the run on Monday) *

"I would assume that both teams are hopeful that they'll have carries in excess of maybe 35 or 40 carries in this game. If you look back over the history of the last six matchups, the team with the most rushing yards won the game, between the Titans and the Jaguars."

*(on if the Jaguars and Titans are similar teams) *

"Well, yeah. I think both their offenses are surrounded by their run game and the play-action pass is a big part of it, and the quarterback's ability to convert third downs is a key concept on the field and is very, very important to both offenses. Defensively, you want to prevent the big play and stop the run and get the ball back for your offense. Jacksonville has always had great special team, they have probably the two top special teamers in the AFC and they're very productive."

*(on why the Jaguars have seemed to do well against Vince Young) *

"They've got something that they typically are, they always have good defense. And good defenses are going to take things away from quarterbacks. Vince has made some plays, certainly, but they've played well."

*(on the Titans defense) *

"Well, we're giving up some yards but we're playing pretty well in the plus territory and we've been getting adequate pressure on the passer, and we've come up with some turnovers as of late which has been important."

*(on the Titans defense being ranked 22nd)  *

If you look at the defense's ranking in our division, and who they've played, some of their opponents, the Jaguars played three of the top four offenses in the National Football League and another one that was 8th or 9th. That's the indication with us too, we've played some good quarterbacks; it's going to happen. But as far as our defense is concerned, points allowed and wins are the most important thing. We played very well in the game against Pittsburgh and lost because we turned the ball over seven times and had not given up a touchdown. We've done a lot of things but certainly there's a lot of room for improvement."

*(on if it feels better to be 3-2 this year than last year's start of 0-6) *

"Yeah, I think most people would prefer 3-2 over 0-6."

*(on the team staying together through the losses last season) *

"They played hard. There were a lot of reasons for the slow start. But they did, they stayed together and worked hard and believed all along that they were better than their record reflected. They believed all along that they were better than their record reflected and fortunately we were able to win eight out of the last 10 games."

*(on not taking shots at Jacksonville anymore) *

"I think there might have been, you can count on one hand the comments that were the response of something that had taken place. But again, that was a long time ago."

*(on the AFC South division doing better than it used to) *

"I think it is. I think it's better. I think all four teams have improved, clearly the Colts have had some extraordinary injury situations and I think that's kind of where they are right now. But there are a lot of games left and not speaking on behalf of the Jaguars or the Texans but from our standpoint, everybody's trying to catch the Colts and right now every game is very very important.
