A Look at Players Picked at No. 15 in Titans Era

NASHVILLE, Tenn. — Like any draft position, the 15th slot in the NFL Draft has produced some hits, and some misses.

Heading into the start of this year's NFL Draft, the Titans are scheduled to pick 15th overall.

Below is a look at the players selected with the 15th overall selection in the NFL Draft in the "Titans era" (1999-present). One interesting note: Every player picked 15th since 2007 remains in the league today.

2015 San Diego Chargers – Melvin Gordon, RB, Wisconsin**

Comment: Gordon ran for 641 yards on 184 carries in his rookie season with the Chargers. He also caught 33 passes for 192 yards.

2014 Pittsburgh Steelers -- Ryan Shazier, LB, Ohio State

Comment: Shazier has started 17 games over his first two NFL seasons, including 12 in 2015. He had 55 tackles and 3.5 sacks in 2015.

2013 New Orleans Saints -- Kenny Vaccaro, S, Texas

Comment: Vacarro has been a full-time starter with the Saints, where he had 105 tackles and three sacks last season. He has three career interceptions.

2012 Seattle Seahawks -- Bruce Irvin, DE, West Virginia

Comment: Irvin has 22 sacks in his first four NFL seasons, and has started 37 games over the past three seasons on a very good Seattle defense.

2011 Miami Dolphins -- Mike Pouncey, C, Florida

Comment: Pouncey has been a big hit. He's already been named to three Pro Bowls, and he's started 72 games in five seasons.

2010 New York Giants -- Jason Pierre-Paul, DE, South Florida**

Comment: Pierre-Paul racked up 16.5 sacks in his second NFL season, and 12.5 in 2014. He's recorded 43 sacks in his first six NFL seasons. A hand injury has left questions about his productivity moving forward.

2009 Houston Texans -- Brian Cushing, LB, USC

Comment: Cushing was the Defensive Rookie of the Year in 2009, when he was named a Pro Bowler. He has 583 tackles and 12 sacks in seven seasons.

2008 Kansas City Chiefs -- Branden Albert, T, Virginia

Comment: Albert has been named to two Pro Bowls (2013, 2015) and has started 108 games in eight seasons with the Chiefs and Dolphins.

2007 Pittsburgh Steelers -- Lawrence Timmons, LB, Florida State

Comment: Timmons has spent his entire career in Pittsburgh. He was named to a Pro Bowl in 2014, and has 867 tackles and 33 sacks in nine seasons.

2006 St. Louis Rams -- Tye Hill, CB, Clemson**

Comment: Hill played three seasons with the Rams before stints with the Falcons, Titans and Lions. His final NFL season was in 2010. He finished his career with 115 tackles and five interceptions.

2005 Kansas City Chiefs -- Derrick Johnson, LB, Texas

Comment: Johnson has been a productive and reliable pro. He's been named to four Pro Bowls in his career, and has racked up 990 tackles and 26.5 career sacks.

2004 Tampa Bay Buccaneers -- Michael Clayton, WR, LSU

Comment: Clayton played six seasons with the Bucs before finishing his career with the Giants. He finished his career with 2,955 receiving yards and 10 touchdowns on 223 catches.

2003 Philadelphia Eagles -- Jerome McDougle, DE, Miami (FL)

Comment: McDougle dealt with injuries and off-field issues during his four seasons with the Eagles. He never started a game, and finished his career with the Giants.

2002 Tennessee Titans -- Albert Haynesworth, DT, Tennessee**

Comment: Haynesworth was a two-time Pro Bowler and a real beast at time with the Titans. His play earned him $100 million contract with the Redskins, where he didn't have the same success. He had 30.5 sacks in his career.

2001 Washington Redskins -- Rod Gardner, WR, Clemson

Comment: Gardner played four seasons with the Redskins before being traded to the Panthers. He finished his career with the Chiefs. In his career, Gardner tallied 242 catches for 3,165 yards and 23 touchdowns.

2000 Denver Broncos -- Deltha O'Neal, CB, California

Comment: O'Neal played nine NFL seasons, including four seasons each with the Broncos and Bengals. He was a two-time Pro Bowler with the Broncos. He tallied 34 interceptions in his career.

1999 Tampa Bay Buccaneers -- Anthony McFarland, DT, LSU

Comment: McFarland played eight seasons with the Buccaneers before finishing his career with the Colts. He racked up 188 tackles, 22.5 sacks, and two Super Bowl rings in his career.
