Nissan Stadium Two-Minute Drill: Construction Progress

The 2024 New Nissan Stadium groundbreaking event marked the start of three years of construction. Kellen Decoursey, a project executive, recalls the many factors behind every detail, from honoring Nashville's industrial past to using a hybrid steel-and-concrete structure for cost, material, and scheduling efficiency.

While there's still a long way to go, progress has been significant. With 1,000 workers on site daily, the project has already surpassed one million labor hours.

James Arel, who oversees operations and sustainability, highlights the environmental focus of the project including energy reduction, water conservation, and a push toward zero waste. The stadium also aims to become the first professional sports venue in Tennessee to achieve LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) certification, tackling the challenge of game-day waste head-on.
