Young Hurts Right Thumb, Goes to Locker Room

NASHVILLE, Tenn. - Tennessee quarterback Vince Young hurt his right thumb on a throw late in the third quarter, and left the game for the locker room.

Young apparently hit his hand on a helmet throwing a 37-yarder to Nate Washington. He stayed in the game for a play, handing off to Chris Johnson. Then he went to the sideline with the Titans calling a time-out as a trainer and doctor looked at his hand. His return is questionable.

That gave rookie Rusty Smith a couple of minutes to warm up. He came in and threw a deep pass on fourth-and-3 to Randy Moss, but the play was wiped out because the receiver pushed off DeAngelo Hall for the catch.

It was Smith's debut i the NFL. Kerry Collins is the Titans' No. 3 quarterback with a strained calf.
